Fortis College reviews and complaints
Admissions
I had my admissions appointment today at Fortis college in Houston South, and Fortis is definitely scammy! My admissions lady told me the program was $34,000 which is extremely expensive compared to other programs. The building was very ran down and dirty. I asked her what the pass/graduation rate was, and she told me it’s 50% and it’s probably lower than...

Students please be aware of phony rip off non accredited so-called colleges like Fortis College. They are in the business of selling diplomas (Diploma Mills) to populations who are low-income and are in a hurry to get a vocation and a job. Fortis College located in Landover Maryland practice extreme behavior of selling over priced education or lack there of to an unsuspecting young population of predominantly females. The Director of Admissions Mr. McMullen and other ignorant associates of his establishment becomes very beligerent and defensive when dealing with people who have more education than them. They don't want to hear the truth that prctically NO REPATABLE EMPLOYER HAS EVEN HEARD OF THE NAME FORTIS COLLEGE. LESS MORE, no employer is going to gamble on hiring anyone from a diploma mill like Fortis College that operates like used car salesmen selling false hopes and promises of employment through a diploma or so-called degree to unsuspecting young students. FYI This college was involved a big law suit in the past and the plaintiffs won their case. Afterwards, the defendants changed their name to Fortis College but still practice the same illegal tactics.
The U.S. Dept. of Education undoubtably has knowledge of this rip off establishment and others like it. It has been long overdue for them to start investigating and shutting down their receipts of federal education loans and money.
To future students, please, please please take the time to research a school thoroughly before you make a financial and education committment.

Too expensive, poor instruction,
If you are thinkin about going to Fortis College - Think twoci...I just graduated in the Med Ofc Program and I have still haven't found a job. Look folks? Alll they want is your money. The med. office program is about $25, 000 and you have unorganized, unqualified teachers instructing you. Most of them are Medical Assistants and have just worked on the job to qualify them for teachers. The school has a big turnover in teachers they can't keep anyone. You do petty stuff in the classes at this school like spelling test, and writing little essays in any format. Helll, as, much as you pay to go to school there, they ought to be supplying paper and pencil. YOu can't find and adequate computer to use (if the one or two do work) and there is no library.
Going there is a big mistake. If you are young or old, and want an education that is short, go to an accredited community college... They say here you can get a job after you finish...Who's going to help you find one? ? don't even consider going here for NUursing...are you kiddin me?Dummies wake up.
By the way folks!I am a A/B student so I did well .
DON'T LISTEN TO THE ENTRANCE HYPE DO SOME RESEARCH YOURSELF DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. THESE KIND OF SCHOOLS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE STUDENT JUST YOUR FINANCIAL AID MONEY.
