Rentspree is a website that uses Transunion to check people's information. However, I have noticed that it is consistently inaccurate. It seems like Transunion, Equifax, and Experian are always combining social security numbers, which is ridiculous because a person only has one. They also never update people's addresses or work history. Plus, all three companies have had massive security breaches that have spread people's information across the internet.

If you are a business owner or a landlord, there are much easier, more accurate, and quicker ways to vet a potential renter. I recently discovered that Rentpee is actually Transunion Smartmove. It seems like Transunion just made a cheaper version of itself to compete with itself. It's strange that Transunion Smartmove would partner with RentSpree when they are sort of competitors. After all, they are the same company.

Overall, I would not recommend using RentSpree for tenant screening. The inaccuracies and security concerns are just not worth the risk. There are plenty of other options out there that are more reliable and secure.
