We hired Protax to reduce our property taxes. After talking with the assessor’s office today, the tax relief Protax claim on their letter was not due to any contact by this company. Being in a distressed area, all property was reassessed by the city for the January – June 2010 time frame. Their application dated June 1 has NOT been responded to according to assessor’s office.
“This is not an invoice…no payment is due”, shows your attempt to claim the reduction when it had nothing to do with your company. If they supplied proof that their actions resulted in a reduction, we would have no problems in paying for the time.

Now we find out they will not cancel the contract and they claim they made the reduction in price. Now 18 lawsuits in the past 5 months against this company and I guess we will be #19

I am being sued also by this unethical business. I fired them in 2011 and hired another company to lower my property taxes. The new company did lower my taxes and protax is trying to get a percentage of that savings when they did nothing to earn it. Does anyone know of a lawsuit I can join against this company?

I agree with all above and please stay away with this form.
They withdraw 2 of my property tax appeals without inform me. because they do not feel that tax saving for $300.00/year for one condo and $1000.00 +/year for a single family house are worth for their time.
They are solely and only working for their profit, not for yours. And do not believe what they offered at beginning when they want you to sign up with them.

I am in the processing to have my attorney to review my case now and I guess that I will join the law suit count as #20.
It will be much better for your self to appeal the property tax than have this unethical firm to represent you! I learned this lesson in a hard way.

We started the process to lower our taxes and there came along protax offer to help. we signed a contract with them and soon after we received a reduction from assessors office based on our own attempt to reduce taxes. knowing that protax still held the contract against us, sewed us and took us to court to get a fee of about $700.00 that they didn't work for. They won regardless of the documents attesting to our claim. Protax runs an unethical business and we strongly advise against signing any contracts with them.

I am at same boat and like to know what to do.

Seems no way you could stop them and they just did without my permit!

Hi June,

What happened regarding your case? I have received a mail from ProTax LLC and asking for authorization to represent me on reducing my property tax for a 35% contingency fee upon tax saving. I looked at the contract and does not raise any alarm so far. I would like to understand more from you before I sign. Many thanks.

Terry

We are in the same suit...except they are trying to sue us for their invoice that they sent us 4 years ago which I tried to tell them that we didn't owe. Can you tell me what happened to your case? I'm in the middle of trying to find a lawyer and the best approach for this. These people are ### that leech off of the rest of society and I want to teach them a lesson!
