people, stop calling electricians, plumbers, roofers, and start doing it yourself, build your own car, your own house, and maintain them yourself, when the engine in your car burns up, rebuild it yourself! 7 eleven mechanics always say they can do something for you for less then a liscensed plumber or electrician, roofer, or any 1 with years of experience, and a liscence do back it up. So next time you call some one because YOU CAN'T DO IT YOUR SELF, keep that in mind. Why don't you tell your doctor he way to expensive? Len The Plumber and all the LICENSED AND INSURED personnel he has working for him have more experience then you or YOUR UNLICENSED, AND NO REAL EXPERIENCE PEOPLE have. So either do the job yourself, or get unlicenced, uninsured, and the idots that can't back there work, to do it for you. By the way, i doubt he pays 1.75 for a wax ring for your water closet, he buys by the skid. the price of the part isnt what you should worry about, the fact a licensed and insured plumber is what your paying for.

To be perfectly honest with you, your insurance company is the real scammer here, not some lady who answers phones at a plumbing company, shes not a plumber, all she did was set the appointment with you. The Plumber who showed up on your door step was the honest 1, he didn't have to be, he could have just snaked the sewer, charged you alot of money to do it, and say to you before he left, "see you next year". The insurance company is the "thief" telling you that your ; basically new home, with PVC sewer pipe, needs cleaned every year. You should find a local, licensed plumber that you feel good with, that will give you good advice, and back up his work. Good Luck to you, by the way, if the insurance company guy tells you your electicity need serviced regullarly, hes full of ###!
you should do research first. Why would you call a plumber to work on your airconditioner? you call a aircondition company.
Thats like asking a sergon to work on your brakes on your car. why not, after all he works with tools!
um lets see dumb ### where do i begin, you own the house, you own the water heater, ill speak for that company, and the entire 7 billion people on earth, (it is your problem) they gave you a price to replace the water heater, and you said you would rather do a half ### job and repair it, the plumbing in your house dosnt care about a bad economy, or that your straped for money. Your house, Your decissions. not the plumber, not the roofer, not god. YOU, OR THE OWNER OF THE HOME ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING AND MAINTAINING YOUR PROPERTY. If you can't afford to do that, then sell it to some 1 that can. stop blaming every 1 who comes to your home to give you a price for replacing, or repairing, your out dated, (probley needed replaced 10 years ago) ###.

if i was your "regular plumber", id be pissed at your for calling any other plumbing company, id be offended, and probly would have thrown you under the bus!
You couldn't call your "regular plumber" in the first place?
If he's a licensed plumber, he probly knows your plumbing system better then you. and you own the place.
he'd know the plumbing better then any 1.
PROBLY SHOULD HAVE WAITED 1 MORE DAY and just called your regular plumber
First of all, it sounds like you had a unlicensced person; (definetly not a licenced plumber) do the repair for you.
2nd, it also sounds like he had shark bite fittings used for a perminent repair. Shark bite fittings are for temperary repair only.
3rd im not sure what kind of pipe you have through out your house, but if its polybutelene. you might be on borrowed time anyway.
polybutelene (gray) will fail completly. Only a plumber would know this.
4th your water heater will not "blow" because your incoming and outgoing water valves are off, water temp will reach therostat or gas setting for heat, and will maintain temp, if pressure does build up, it will discharge through your relief valve any ways, only a licensed plumber would know that.
and finnally, repair may very well have cost 600$, but i have trouble beliving a new garbage disposer replaced, cost 2000$. so either your bull ###, or not telling something in your ### complaint
