One thing I have also seen is that pieces purchased off e-bay, particularly if they ship from China, are not likely to be the real deal. There is always something that doesn't look quite right about them - the color may be off or the design might be ever so slightly different. They are still stamped with "lia sophia" so its tricky to know if its the real thing. That's why I have to agree with Debi who advised that you should buy from a lia sophia advisor. Oh - I will say this if you found the piece at a garage sale it may very well be the real thing but if they don't give you their receipt you won't have the lifetime warranty. Every piece purchased through an advisor will come with a lifetime replacement guarantee which means as long as you have that receipt and the piece you can send it back to the company for an exchange.
Please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions!

Hi Robin,
I'm so sorry that you had this experience and I hope this consultant isn't someone I know. I understand what Jessica is saying but would kindly ask that you keep in mind that all of the sales representatives (even managers) are independent advisors. This is not necessarily an approach endorsed by the company - and is not the response that you would get from every consultant or manager.
If you truly enjoy the jewelry and the lifetime replacement guarantee that the company offers with it then perhaps the solution would be to find another advisor. Here is my self interested plug - if you have not already guessed I am an advisor with the company and I truly believe in building relationships over business and I would like to think that my hostesses would agree that this is how I operate.
We do have a fantastic fall catalog you can check it out on my website or if you would like me to send you a hard copy in the mail contact me by e-mail and I'll get one out to you right away. Once again I appoligze for your experience. Let me know if there is anything I can do to make this situation right for you!

Hi Mirna,
I can truly appreciate how you feel - even as an advisor myself I have to have a receipt to get items replaced. However, there are a few things that can be done! What the company really needs is the order # and the date of the show that the piece was purchased at. So you have a few options:
Option 1 - Contact the advisor that sold them to you: If these 3 items were purchased in the previous 18 months the advisor that sold them to you can pull up the information that you need from her computer data base. If they were purchased prior to that hopefully she kept records of the order number and date of the show. She can then send you an exchange form to be completed with the information so that you can complete your return.
Option 2- Contact a friend that purchased at the same show to see if they still have their receipt ask them for the order # and date of the show. (I can send you the exchange form via e-mail if you like).
Option 3 - Contact me privately via e-mail and I will see if there is another solution I can work out for you!
I would love to help make this right for you!

Dear Mrs. ? in Virginia,
I'm so sorry that you had such a poor experience with lia sophia. The problem is that every advisor is an independent contractor - which means each individual advisor owns her own company. So while you may have a poor experience with one advisor it doen'st mean that every advisor runs her business that way. Did you ever get this situation resolved? I would be more than happy to assist you if not.
Let me know what I can do to make this right for you!

Hi Vicky,
I was wondering if you were able to get your necklace replaced? It should not have turned dark on you and it may have done so for a variety of reasons including the possibility of a manufacturer's defect. The Lifetime replacement gurarantee is one of the great perks offered by lia sophia so I hope that you took advantage of that and sent the necklace back. If you haven't and you need help with that please feel free to e-mail me and I will assist you with that process. How are the earrings holding up for you?

I just wanted to point out that all of the products sold by lia sophia are backed by a lifetime replacement guarantee. That means that lia sophia will exchange your pieces for life! If you are still having problems I would send these items back and perhaps try a different style? Or you could replace them with the same thing since these are still in the catalog. It's entirely up to you. I'm not sure why the earrings would have turned your ears green - it is possible that they were defective. Most people that cannot wear other jewelry have found ours to be very easy to wear even for those with highly sensitive ears.
I hope your friend is able to help make this situation right for you! If not please feel free to contact me and I'll see what I can do.

Janean, I am so sorry that this happened to you. I can completely understand how you feel since the company did not provide you with very good customer service -clearly they received the package since they sent you a letter about the exchage. It does sound like the particular piece you had may have been defective. If you are interested in giving the jewelry another chance send me an e-mail at melindapitman@yahoo.com and I will see what I can do to make this right for you! Melinda
Rebecca, I couldn't tell from your post if you actually made your purchase through the company or if you purchased on e-bay. If you purchased through the company I am sorry you were not satisfied with your jewelry purchase. Did you exercise the option of returning it? You are eligible for a full refund the first 45 days after purchase. The pieces purchased through the company are plated with rhodium and not sterling because rhodium actually sells at a higher price per ounce and because it is more durable and keeps its high shine without requiring polishing. Ask your local jeweler about the difference between rhodium and sterling and you'll be surprised to learn that most white gold rings are generally coated with rhodium. Many of the pieces sold by the company do use other materials like gemstones, mother of pearl, abalone, jade, hematite, turquoise, jasper, tiger eye, fresh water pearls... perhaps you would have liked the piece better had you selected an item made with different materials. Perhaps not. If you did not purchase it through the company you should know that only some of the necklaces on e-bay are old stock that individual sales people sell even though their contract prohibits them from doing so, and some are knock offs sold out of China. They look convincingly similar but are not lia sophia pieces and the quality is very poor. If this is what you purchased I can certainly understand your disappointment, because you did not actually experience the lia sophia product.
