I had my check declined at TJ Maxx because of Certegy. My credit score is in the 800's, have never bounced a check and had sufficient funds. I was totally humiliated and ended up paying in cash. I was given an 800 number to call. I rushed home and called the Certegy number. It was automated, no one to answer questions. I googled Certegy and got a different number. I got a person to talk to but they gave no reason for a decline or information that explains why this was done. It's a dead end and you're stuck with what they have decided about your checks. TJ Maxx has cleared me to write checks at their store again but now I'm terrified to write a check at any store for fear of being declined.
