I found this thread because I was curious about how much a Great Clips employee earns. I am a customer and was curious at to how well my stylus does.
If she makes 8.50 plus another 8.00 hour in tips that's not bad for an 18 year old just out of school. She turns 19 this August and will take her cosmetology management test at that time. She's friendly and always smiles. I'm sure she does great in tips.
For someone without a college degree making 34k a year is pretty good. I have a MA degree and work in research and make 40k.
I'm guessing here that those who are unhappy would probably be unhappy regardless of where they work. For me, I'll stick with my happy stylus for as long as she's 'just' cutting hair.
