Stayed in a sun homes community in davison, mi back in 2007 up until 2010. m my husband list his job in 2009 but quickly received unemployment which was more than enough to cover our $575 rent payments. we noticed that two days before thanksgiving, several neighbors were moving out. now typically this wouldn't be alarming except, there were more than four families. well the day before thanksgiving, my husband gets an eviction notice that stating that we had to move as well because we were one of many who had at least one court eviction for the entire year and that anyone with one or more had to leave. even though that happened at the beginning of 2009 and even though we paid over what was owed a week later, we had to move by the 1st of december 2009; really? I was in the middle of cooking, family were there and I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with my fifth baby. we tried asking if we could begin the purchase process and they vehemently denied us. we had no money saved because we paid our bills (them included), and weren't behind at all. after two months of moving out (slept in our van for a couple of nights, hotel, and finally found suffer home), we receive a bill for $2, 400+ which is now on my husbands credit. they first said early lease termination by tenant, than it was, we were behind several months even though we had rent receipts to prove it, unfortunately no lawyer to sue. truth is, even if we could've sued, the lawyer retainer fee and other fees would have been more than that bill. sad that they get away with these bad business practices and easily screw with people's livelihood.
