Hello
My family owns a small rescue in Pa .we only take in horses that people don’t want to stop the process of them getting sent to New Holland I have seen the worst of that place. But even horse rescues are now turning in to horse dealers..the horse rescues now put horses on there for 3 thousand but say they saved them from slaughter. The dealers are all for horse slaughter because it keeps them in business it’s sick .
I am so sorry about what happened to you. It happened to a girl I knew at a local barn. they told her the horse was sound and had been in some shows (supposedly did quite well) He was a little shaky when she got him and they said it was just from the trailer ride (the dealer only lives in New Jersey) when they had a vet come out a couple days later he said the horse was lame and should not be ridden hard or jumped. She told us the dealer just said all deals were final. After a couple weeks the girls trainer told her he would be fine if they used him for her lessons ( she was a jumping nut) she jumped him so much over a month’s time he went permanently lame and what I have heard last of the poor horses fate is he ended up getting put down. Also the same girl had purchased a paint with nuvicular that we had bought from her so it did not end up going to New Holland. So it made me happy to hear that you went through a lot to help what was wrong with McGee and did not just give up so hopefully more people will look in to who their buying a new horse from .
Happy trails
