I was with NECC Telecom for long distance and international calls cuz they have a good connection and low rates and I make calls to Africa almost every day. Everything was fain for a couple of years, but one day I received a bill from Primo Telecom and the balance was 3 times higher than the usual balance from NECC. I have called Primo's customer service several times to see what's all about and no chance to reach them. Than I called my LD provider NECC to see what's happening. "It looks like you are not our customer anymore, you are with Primo Telecom", said a CS Rep. "What?" I said. "I never heard about this company since today." "Seems like they are stealing our customers and in your case it was possible because you didn't have a slamming protection. We can take you back but we have to make another voice recording and you must say: Yes, to slamming protection now and no company can take you without our permission."
So, guys, if you sign with a LD provider, sign for the slamming protection also.

Incredible!
I didn't know it's possible. My long distance provider is Pulse Telcom and I'm pretty happy with it, but now I'm afraid Primo will steal me from there. I have no idea if I signed up for slamming protection or not. How can I find out?

This is innacurate.

NECC telecom company has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau in Michigan which is their billing and main office.
They have complaints and law suits against them by the Federal Communications COmmission.
They have complaints against them filed with the Federal Trade Commission.
They have complaints filed against them with Attorney Generals Offices.
They change their contracts with customers at their whim without notifying the customer and are cited for improper billing.
Check with your local carrier. They sold your information and account to another company. Note : when you cancel make sure that you cancel and notify your local land line carrier or they will continue to have access to your line.

Guys, if you don't like it, go and sign up with Pulse Telecom. For $24.95/month you can make unlimited phone calls to India, Canada and USA (land line and cellular) and also to 16 European countries. All the calls are included in this plan.
I'm with Pulse Telecom and I'm satisfied.
