Potomac Edison review: Electric

I am facing electric shutoff from Potomac Edison on Tuesday and at this point I feel like I’m not even being treated like a human being.

I have spent days trying to do everything the “right way.” I went through the PSC process, asked for hardship assistance, requested payment arrangements, contacted supervisors, applied for emergency assistance, and explained repeatedly that I cannot afford the required down payment right now.

Instead of being treated with compassion or understanding, I feel like I’m just being treated as an account number.

I am actively trying to get help through LIHEAP, charities, and emergency assistance programs. I am not refusing to pay my bill — I am asking for time and humanity while I work through a financial hardship situation.

The stress of potentially losing power while trying everything possible to avoid it has been overwhelming. It should not be this difficult for someone asking for temporary help during a crisis.

If anyone has dealt with Potomac Edison, utility shutoffs, hardship holds, or emergency assistance in West Virginia, I would appreciate real advice, resources, or guidance. I’m trying to prevent my household from losing electricity while assistance applications are still pending.

I am asking Potomac Edison to please review my account with compassion and allow a temporary hardship to hold before disconnecting my service Tuesday.
