I purchased Ply Gem Mira wood casement windows with the understanding that they were a quality product built to compete with the big name brands like Andersen and Pella. Unfortunately I found out differently when I removed the trim moldings in order to stain and finish the windows. That is when I found conditions of screws driven through the face and busting out through the sides of the window frames causing the frames to split and crack. Upon removing the hinges from the window sashes I found that the wood sashes were also were cracked and split. Several windows were missing hardware (screws & staples), and had screw heads that were stripped and even broken off. I have attempted for a year to resolve my concerns with Ply Gem including contact with the area field rep, his manager, the customer service manager, a better business bureau complaint and the CEO of the company, Gary Robinette. I provided the pictures to support my claims of poor quality and Ply Gems' response was that this was an "acceptable method of construction" and that the issues are "hidden by the trim moldings" and that "you are not supposed to see that". Don't buy Ply Gem windows! The file size of my photos is too large for this site page.
