I came in to donate blood and unbeknownst to me, one blood uses trainees to get their experience. Totally understand, they do need real world experience right? Problem is that they do not disclose to their patients that you may be a guinea pig which is highly unethical. I could sense my phlebotomist wasn't too experienced but when she was cramming this massive needle (not your ordinary needle for shots) into my arm and no blood was coming out, I knew there was a problem. Even worse her trainer, sits way up at the front desk watching from a distance rather than assisting her hands on. You know why, because they don't want the patients to know they are being used for training. Even worse is knowing they will give law enforcement a highly experienced phlebotomist just in case something goes wrong. See what im getting at here? Preferential treatment. In the meantime while it's possible my vein could be punctured/injured by a trainee who's trainer tiptoes around so as not to tip anyone off, the patients are vulnerable and highly exposed to something possibly catastrophic. Furthermore, one blood is a donation center owned by the red cross and not subject to regulation by the state of fl because of its non profit status. This is absurd negligence and I will never donate blood here again. To add insult to injury, the office covers up and makes excuses for their employees and in the meantime, I spend two weeks battered and bruised for my generosity and kindness. No thanks. Clean blood is a commodity and frankly had I known I was being used like a fool and coming into such an unethical facility, I would have never set foot into this office in a million years. All I can say is that... Mistakes are a choice, like being sneaky and unethical. Your health and safety is not a concern to this office nor do you have any recourse if they decide to poke a hole through you and you bleed to death. Horrible people and office to deal with. If giving an apology to the damaged patient is how they rectify their bad business practices, then thats the second insult you will get out of coming here.

Desired outcome: You have no recourse other than to contact the FDA who regulates Non Profits like The Red Cross.
