I am a client who originally contracted with NuU Medspa in 2010 for the Smart Lipo procedure at the Oak Brook, IL location. I was quoted approximately 6400.00 and made a deposit of 3000.00. On Jan. 14, 2011 I made an additional deposit of 3000.00 bringing my total paid to 6000.00 and agreed to pay balance on the date of the procedure. Upon making the last payment I was scheduled on February 11 for pre-op evaluation and February 25th for surgery. The February date was canceled and a new date of March 11th was scheduled. Upon calling for additional information I was informed by Lex or Imani that no March date was set and was then scheduled for April 19, 2011. On Wednesday, April 13th, I was informed by Lex that my scheduled date for April 19th was also canceled and I would receive a call back for re-scheduling.

Due to my dissatisfaction of canceled dates, changing locations, erratic company contacts, and poor customer service I lost confidence in the company, Axiology Aesthetics, which took over NuU Medspa and assumed its liabilities. I believe that any reputable physician would not work for an unstable company that handles its customers with such disregard and decided to cease my relationship with them. I immediately called Lex back and informed him I did not want to proceed with the procedure and requested an immediate refund. That is where the run around began. He immediately became vague about who I could speak to, said he didn't want to "argue" with me and would have "someone" call me back. He began asking questions unrelated to situation at hand - "who wrote you up." On Thursday afternoon I had yet to hear from anyone and attempted to call the company at which time my call was screened by the person answering the phone. I asked for a manager and the person on the phone asked me "what kind of manager." I told her any manager, her manager, Lex's manager, but she refused to get anyone in authority for me to speak with, but stated someone by the name of Dan would call me back. I asked her his last name and she stated she didn't know but that he is the Vice President. When I asked her how she could work for a company without knowing the VP's last name she accused me of arguing with her and hung up stating she had other customers to talk to.

A few hours later someone identifying himself as Dan Rumello called and apologized for the inconvenience, indicated there were problems with the physician, and he would secure another to do my procedure within the week. He also indicated he would provide transportation to and from the facility. He also stated he would call me back in 24 hours with updated information. Mr. Rumello did not contact me again until this writing, Tuesday, April 19th after I've begun proceedings to recover my funds. He promised to have customer service contact me regarding refund but I have not received a call from anyone.

I invested with these hucksters in 2004 when they were Pure Medspa and then Nuvo. They stole $410, 000 (yes. over 400k) from me. I -my house to make this 49% payment in a san diego location. They then promptly went out of business and shut down their 20+ locations, taking me and over 40 investors with them!

These criminals keep recycling this same scam. They have partners and family members they work with so if you request an interview with another investor, you will get glowing feedback, all if which is false. I know that Norman Valine has an expensive residence in Las Vegas. Jeff Schmidt disappeared, but is likely still behind these continued scams. If anyone comes across these two criminals, kick them both in the nuts until they cry for mercy please. THese f*uckers ruined my life.

I too was scammed by Nu U med spa a.k.a. AXIOLOGY AESTHETICS! I went to their Lincoln Park office it was nice (tiny space) but they were professional and gave me a sense that everything would be ok. So I signed up with Monica I made a $1800.00 down payment and financed the rest. I was suppose to get me abdomen (upper and lower done). My appoint was scheduled months away it was April and I couldn't get an appointment until June 25, 2011, I agreed because I really wanted the procedure and really thought this was normal because the procedure was so new. After about a week I received a call from Monica stating that she had a gift card or something that another customer won in a raffle but could not use because they didn't meet the criteria for the procedure and that she would give it to me if I paid them so much money (I don't remember how much I was suppose to pay) but ultimately I end up paying an additional $1600.00 to get my hips/saddlebags done. Anyway I call every week trying to see if someone cancelled, and 3 months later it was time for my procedure. I came out to Schaumburg location to meet the doctors which I only meet with nurse Gina for my pre-observation. I like the facility and thought I would be well taken care of. The day of the procedure was when everything started to unravel. My appointment was at 8:00am I tried to call to tell them i was going to be late because it was storming outside (No answer) Nurse Gina called me at 8:30am to see if I made it to the facility she was having car trouble (someone busted her car window) GO FIGURE! (this was a warning for me but I ignored it!.) Finally we get to the office at the same time me and Nurse Gina, I'm happy ready to get started, (NO Doctor!) and I didn't take my antiboitic because it was never prescribed to me, Nurse Gina said she called it in to the pharmacy and that I was suppose to pick it up (OK if I knew!) she didn't communicate that with me. Anyway she wrote me a prescription and I took it to Walgreens got it filled and came back now it's 10:00am, I was suppose to take one pill at night and one in the morning, this didn't happen! so now i'm taking the pill just 2 hours before the procedure because I wasn't going to wait 3 more months if i rescheduled. The doctor came and did the procedure I believe it was from 1:00pm until about 4:00pm. and I got the feeling he just stepped off a plane because of his and nurse Gina's conversation, and he made a point to tell me that he is sub contracted. (RED FLAG) I was prepared to get all of my procedures (abdomen and hips) done at the same time but the doctor told me that I couldn't because my body weight could not safely take that much medication at one time and so he suggested that I choose one procedure and so I chose my hips. My results were phenomenal! I as very happy and thought it was well worth the headache that I went through. But I was wrong, later that night I had t be rushed to the hospital for light headed and dizziness, I had lost too much fluid because the blood and solution they injected was gushing out. The hospital gave me fluids and I was ok after that but they suggested that I go back to schaumburg and tell them what happen. When I got to the Dr. office they told me I should not have went to the emergency room but I told them if they had a 24 hour hotline so that i could ask questions to see if what I was experiencing was normal or not. they took note and told me it was normal, i went home happy and rescheduled my next appointment for my abdomen. the appointment was 2 months later. 1 month later I called and the number was disconnected or something, I called the Lincoln Park office (Nothing)! I went to the office it was gone! I called the Finance company and they said they are aware of the situation and that they can't find them either, I told them my situation and that I was due another procedure but they said that all they have is the first payment documented and that I still must pay the entire amount because I signed a contract for a certain amount and that they intend to collect all of it. So now I'm out of $1600.00! This was a Horrible SCAM!

I was scammed out of 94.00 dollars. They had took my money to touch up hair removal from my face. Something that I did years ago. They said that they can take the few that I have off my for one treatment for 94.00 dollars. They never made the appointment . They said that they were going to call me but they never ever did. I didn't lose much but it was still 94.00 dollars spent on nothing.

My colleague had the exact same experience. Since proximity was the issue for her, she switched to another doctor in Oakbrook Terrace who owns Renaissance Cosmetic Laser. They're right off of 83, on 22nd. street. She is extremely happy with the doctor and got a great discount because of her bad experience with Nu U. Maybe you should try there?

I paid.$7000 for smartlipo, .couldnt meet with the Dr. which should have been a red flag. Than when I do meet with the Dr. he told me I wasnt a good candidate and he refused to treat me. Than the refund process staryed, I was ###ed around by Dan Lumello, Rawlins and Lex and Monica. Its been 2months and supposedly my money is in mail and it hasnt gotten here. This company has been in business for only 5 months and already has an F rating with the BBB and over 53 complaints. Not to mention the Botox they sold me, but had no product to do it. Can u say fraud! Dont waste your time with this company, even the call.center girls at corporate are useless and couldnt even tell me who the owners are which I found are John Keily and Norman Valine from Nu U
