Being Canadian, I was prescribed Saxenda for weight loss in Montreal, Quebec. I live in Winnipeg. At the same time, I was prescribed metformin for diabetes. Saxenda, I found out, it is an insulin derivative. If I had known this beforehand then I would never have used it. Started the medication at the end of August 2017. By mid-September, I was septic. When I arrived at the hospital, via ambulance in Houston, 8 - 12 hours left to life, if I had not gone to the hospital. I was admitted to the hospital on Sept 17, 2017. The finally diagnosed me as septic with a necrotic ascending bowel which had leaked contents into my abdomen. The only difference in my life was Saxenda. I could feel the medicine clamping down my bowel. I was flown back to Winnipeg on October 4, 2017. I did not heal up until late March. I am very lucky to be alive. However, it has destroyed my life. I am a nurse who cannot work. I have had my ankle replaced and waiting for a knee replacement. Advancing arthritis is a result of being septic. I have short-term memory, difficulty walking, plus more back surgery. My life is destroyed. I have to live with my sister, her husband at the moment.

I also now have chronic diarrhea due to losing my ascending colon. Whe I go to the washroom my abdomen looks like an alien is coming out.

Desired outcome: Acknowledgement the medication complication. Help somewhat financially to live on my own. I need plastic surgery to fix my stomach. The incision is horrible, and I have abdominal hernias.
