Nickelodeon Please listen!!! The commercials for black children only

You are excelling segregation within our children, not stopping it. Your commercials are racist to the full extent. Your commercial is inclusive to black only. Why? If this was for white children only, using the words, "I am white", and only encouraging white children, it would be seen as racist. Why don't the well-educated creators of these commercials see this as what it is... the biggest hypocrisy ever. Stop invoking racism. You are ruining our country. Shame on you CEO's for allowing this.

Desired outcome: An answer to why you feel these commercials create equality

Nickelodeon Walmart christmas commercial

Walmart is airing a commercial on Nickelodeon where it spoils the magic of Christmas for children. In the commercial, the children speak about sneaking around and finding the presents the parents hid from them and then acting surprised on Christmas day. This commercial is completely inappropriate on a children's channel where many of the children that watch it believe in Santa Claus and the magic of Christmas. There are many creative ways to advertise toys during the Christmas season without spoiling the magic of Christmas for children. Shame on you Walmart!

I saw the commercial air on 12/7/22 at 8:00 am

Desired outcome: This commercial should be removed from Nickelodeon IMMEDIATELY. Inform me when the commercial has been removed.

Nickelodeon Commercials/songs

Nick continues to air commercials saying that black kids are judged based on their skin color. This is an incorrect idea that I don’t need my children poisoned with. Also, Nick has begun to play trashy music videos including Lizzo’s “2 be loved” where she is scantily dressed and twerking. Not only is this content unacceptable but it should also be illegal to broadcast especially to children. Nickelodeon should be ashamed of what they’ve become. I’m shutting them off permanently.

Desired outcome: Immediately stop broadcasting divisive racial propaganda commercial and sexually charged trash.

Nickelodeon New shows

Ever since you dipwads fired Dan Schneider (which I understand by the way) Nickelodeon has gone from bad to worse. The first mistake you made was cancelling Game Shakers, which would have revived your channel. Game Shakers had a perfect balance of inuendo, kid humor, character development, and cultural references. It was the closest we have gotten to Nick in its prime. The second mistake you made was replacing Henry Danger with Danger Force (which is God awful by any standards). Danger Force totally ruins the reputation of Schwoz (Michael D. Cohen) and Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) you pretty much limited their careers to a show that doesn't even compare to its predecessor.

You people really went from kids getting exited for every Saturday night to watch their favorite shows, to creating an awkward experience every time a parent walks by. I used love that my parents could enjoy the humor and plots of each episode, now I never even turn Nick on. To put this in perspective this is coming from a 13-year-old who has watched Nick evolve over the years into what it has become. Now all I see in this channel is a bunch of washed up directors trying to win over the cancel culture community with ''progressive ideas''. I really hope this gets to you guys. And in the words of Sam Puckett this channel is Jank.

Desired outcome: All hope is lost.

I totally agree with Kelly! Paw Patrol is constantly on. What happened to the other shows? Why is this always on? It's very disappointing and very frustrating!

Nickelodeon Laylay girls song do what I want

The fact that the message of what this song is saying is even allowed to be played anywhere is Unacceptable. I do not write reviews, complaints, or anyyhing really but I have had enough of all the things that are being pushed on the youth today and I have reached my limit. In what way is telling kids it's OK to "Do what u want" and also "Laylay" is actually insulting someone or everyone saying the smell like "poo" and more which is "bullying." It's hard enough being a parent and trying to teach my child to be a kind, thoughtful, respectful, and a joyful person just to have everything around them to be the exact opposite. I seriously am scared because the way things are headed and the more I see of how people are allowing sh.. like this to influence there children then things are going to be more corrupt and happiness and kindness are going to be a thing of the past. I urge everyone to only allow positive messages to represent ur lable. What do u want ur image to reflect about urself or are u just in it for how much u will make and what ur bank account represents.

Desired outcome: Take this kind of message off entirely. Positive only.

I have to agree with you 100%. Having children resist especially against parental authority is unacceptable. The age group demographics this is aimed at should be taught respect and learning. What would the end result for our children if this was accepted in everyday society? We as parents are trying to do our best to raise our kids into educated and respectful young men and women. We try to give them the appropriate tools for morals to get ahead in life before us as parents age out and are gone. The "media" or "TV" negative influence sets our kids back and in some cases erase the positive lessons and replaced with this garbage. Hopefully there will be a change for the better on kid's networks such as Nick. Thank you.

Nickelodeon Commercials

Please remove commercials that ate teaching children that america is racist as this only breeds racism and contempt for people that look different . If you want to encourage children to be accepting and actually do something to combat it. One way may be to teach people to be color blind and to accept all people instead of just teaching them that all people are going to discriminate by race no matter what.

Desired outcome: Remove commercials that teach crt and breed racism and contempt and to promote people not judging by race and that we should be a color blind society

Nickelodeon Lay lay

I’m seeing that my daughter has taken a liking to the little lay lay show. I find it very stereotypical and offensive.Wow in this day and time I see that nothing has really changed the minstrel show goes on.

What we see here with African-Americans is only found on this side of the Atlantic The atmosphere was created to oppress. Let’s do a show of how isrealies are able to get money from the United States government however African-Americas have never received any reparations or even an official apology. Why am I am I paying my tax dollars to a Jewish person that wants to steal someone’s land ?

I have another idea for your producers create one on the Tulsa massacre or Elaine Oklahoma or Ochee Florida let’s Make a show on that mocking the expressions of people who exited thier houses to be executed.

Your time is almost up people are starting to realize who you really are as human beings.

Desired outcome: Fire the producers in scrap this minstrel show

Nickelodeon HoneyComb advertising

I find the HoneyCome advertisements to be inappropriate. The one with the African American male in the honey bee costume. Younger kids are in that, one girl in one and a boy in the other and the male in the bee costume moves his chest area up & down like he works out. My wife and I find that inappropriate for kids in that commercial and kid viewers.

Desired outcome: Stop running the ads with the Honeycomb man dressed as the bee with the kids in it or show the ads that’s not so inappropriate .

Nickelodeon That girl lay lay - do what I want song reoccurring commercial

The commercial Do What I Want with That Girl Lay Lay, this commercial is constantly playing throughout the day, frankly I don’t believe there’s a time when this commercial isn’t playing, the commercial is exactly one minute long, it can be found playing at nearly any time, right before I began addressing the issue, the commercial played at 8:39 pm. When get done with work and pick up my son from kindergarten, he adores watching the Nickelodeon classics such as iCarly, SpongeBob SquarePants, Victorious, The Thundermans and many more, All will be calm and enjoyable until this idiotic, Unnecessary and completely outrageous commercial plays it is extremely annoying I find it annoying myself, so does my son, my son!, even then rap culture should not be on a child’s channel in the first place, I will wake up to the commercial playing and have to mute the tv or will wake up to my son shaking me for the remote to change the channel

Desired outcome: I don’t want an apology and I don’t want a meet in the middle agreement, I want this commercial eradicated from the face of all Nickelodeon channels

Nickelodeon Stop putting drag queens which is adult entertainment in children's shows

Absolutely child abuse to put Adult Entertainment in cartoon form to indoctrinate and disturb children. Children are being made to believe that Drag Queens and every type of gay love is to be portrayed to them in cartoons as ok. Do your own business in your own house but leave children alone.

I was appalled to see a Drag Queen being used on Blues Clues. This is an outrage. My children used to enjoy Nick along time ago. I am thankful they missed how horrible this station has become.

Thank you

Ariana

Desired outcome: Go back to the Nick you used to me. Ok for kids. Not offensive. Think back in time when your ratings were good.

Nickelodeon Black sunshine commercial

Please remove and stop playing this commercial ASAP, it should be removed from all on demand shows as well. It is racist because it only glorifies being black. What about every other race? Black History Month was in February, it is over. They never had a white sunshine or Asian sunshine or Hispanic sunshine commercial. Nor should there be any, there should be one saying every child is sunshine.

Desired outcome: Remove from all programming and on demand.

Nickelodeon Commercials

Why did I just see a hypersexualized Glad ForceFlex Cherry Blossom Bag commercial on a CHILDREN’S CHANNEL at 8:40 am? This is absolutely unacceptable that I now have to worry that they won’t be able to watch a show without the commercials you all are choosing to show.

Please please do better. That was completely inappropriate for children. Even my children were exclaiming “WHAT IS THIS?” in disbelief.

If I see more commercials like this, I will gladly cut Nickelodeon from our watch opens.

Desired outcome: Company to contact me and explain who and how they choose appropriate commercials for young children.

Nickelodeon Black sunshine commercial

How absurd is it to have a commercial play over and over again, highlighting to be proud of being black, to children? Why can’t children be children and leave race out of it. I can’t even imagine the backlash that would occur for a white Sunshine or brown Sunshine commercial. Why can’t there be a child sunshine instead? My daughter doesn’t even understand race yet, and she can’t even watch paw patrol without seeing commercials targeting black children specifically? Absolutely absurd.

Desired outcome: Remove commercial

I am 100 percent on this. I want to look into bringing it to others attention . This is insane, today I sat with my kids and watched and that video aired at least 4 times and my son said “ I’m not black mom, am I not a sunshine “ I have this recorded on my ring cameras and this is discriminatory towards others , all they are advertising is that if your any other race it’s not as special as being black. They should handle these situations with care!

Wow. Sounds like what you're saying is that it feels uncomfortable (or even wrong) to sit through commercials full of people who don't represent your ethnic background. I imagine that's how POC felt for at least the first fifty years of television and TV advertising. Have you thought of it like that?

That particular commercial is full of black children because the words being spoken are from a poem by Alicia Keys. It's a pick-me-up, you-can-do-it encouragement for children who represent the author's culture. If you pay attention to television shows and ads, you'll notice that this positive representation is relatively minimal, even today. It's not discriminatory and it does not send the message that "if your any other race it’s not as special as being black." If that's the message you got, perhaps you were so focused on the word "black" and images of black children that you missed the bigger message. I suspect this ad airs so frequently because there simply aren't a lot of similar ads. In fact, I can't think of *any* other ads like this one.

This is a great teachable moment for you and your children. Say, "It's true that you are not black but you ARE a sunshine." Have them write sentences or poems about their "sunshine". Maybe they would compare themselves to some other earthly element like wind, a river, or the moon. It's a very creative, introspective, and safe way to learn about and describe oneself.

One year, as a "get to know me" activity, I had my sixth-grade students choose a sea creature to describe how they felt about math. I wondered if the thought was too abstract for them, but their answers blew me away. One student wrote, "I am like a clam because when I don't understand something in math I close up." Very telling. That was over 20 years ago, but it stuck with me. One student, a first-generation American (family is from Poland) who is now a Ph.D., tracked me down to reconnect.

The point is to recognize differences but also celebrate what we have in common. I see you're from the Midwest. I recognize there's not a ton of diversity there; I grew up in Michigan. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed, like many of my classmates. We had just one student who was "from somewhere else" in our class until 8th grade. Sometime when I was in high school a Latina girl joined the dance team, so that made two. I recognize that it can be challenging to see the other side of the coin, but I encourage you to try. Sure, you can change the channel-- but why not take the opportunity to grow?

Nickelodeon Nick music

The young girl presenting nick music and the music itself is totally unappropriate for young children. It's selling sex to kids who don't even understand yet. Preprogramming the youth to be perverts. I mean who okays this trash? I have to change the channel every afternoon so my 4 year old son is not subjected to women gyrating in nearly no clothing and on this day Monday 11 April, the presenters dress is so short and slutty. There are adult channels for this.

Desired outcome: Remove the program to a more age appropriate channel

Nickelodeon Alicia keys commercial shine

What are we encouraging and exposing young children to. You airw this Shine segment and there's no counter commercial to this representing a white child shining. It's degrading and demoralizing. If we aired only a commercial with a white girl to Shine Black people would raise such a stink. How fair is this? At least put on a commercial showing equality. What you did is banish any harmony in bringing this racial issue to an end. This is an intimidation tactic to get back at whites for what has happened throughout history, to throw it up in the faces of young white little girls causing them to question their insignificance and inferiority. Way to be examples of Jesus, our ultimate creator of all races! So sad!

Nickelodeon Black sunshine commercial racist

What's with the racist propaganda? are all races not important or relevant? my child stares at the screen, asking "am I important too mommy?" I find this commercial trash. This issue has been over for how many decades? I think we're past the black race issues by now. So, other children are not important? isn't every child important due to the fact they are the future of America? This terrible commercial should be removed, and whoever thought of it should be fired.. Teaching kids that one race is superior to others is totally WRONG and not what I want my kids learning. I myself grew up watching Nickelodeon, and it's totally different now than what it was then.. now its trash

Nickelodeon Too much paw patrol

Every night my son watched Paddington then Peppa Pig. The shows are very calming and he has always watched them before bed. Now it's the high energy paw patrol. Paw patrol is on the majority of the day. If you pay attention to Paddington and Peppa, they're about enjoying your family and friends. They don't have the dramatic plots like Paw Patrol. They're just enjoyable calm shows that basically let's kids be kids.

Desired outcome: Bring back Peppa at 9pm!

Nickelodeon Music

Music video - Jason derulo's "let me take you dancing"

The music video plays on the channel - Nickelodeon music - which is meant to be for children, is too sexual and models women in a derogatory way.
In my view the channel shouldn't have sexualised dancing on it. It sends the wrong message to young children about respectful relationships with women.

Desired outcome: Remove any music videos that contain this kind of content
