I bought a car titled by Ndaguba Auto Ltd on 02/4/2022, which was marketed by Kareem Brown through another body shop (Sunshine Auto, where Mr. brown works). Mr. Brown presented the car as the property of his auto shop, where his cousin also works. After over two months of dialog and Mr. Brown advised that the car was ready. When I arrived on February 4th to pay for the car, Mr. Brown advised that I give the money to his cousin. This was the first time I had conversations with anyone except Mr. Brown. I was told the title would be ready in seven days; I agreed because I knew Mr. Brown personally. Upon not receiving the title as promised, it was now two months later, on April 1st, with my temporary tag getting ready to be expired on April 4th, 2022. On this night, I met and learned that the car was owned by Ndaguba Auto. I got the set of documents, checked to ensure the title was present, and proceeded to get permanent tags. I was never told it was a rebuilt title. We picked up the documents to include the title at about 9 pm on April 5, 2022, since the tags expire on April 6th, 2022. I had not seen the title and had no reason to believe it was nothing less than a regular title.

I only found out the car was rebuilt when someone hit the car on June 5th, 2022, and the insurance company stated that the car was already written off and that I would not be able to be paid the total amount of the repair cost. I immediately connected with the young man with whom I had conversations for months about getting a car and not a rebuilt car. This young man works at the shop where I bought the car, and we discussed four previous cars, which I passed over because they were rebuilt. I emphatically told him that my daughter is 17 years old, and I won’t put her in a car already written off by the insurance company.

When I was introduced to the car, he said, "it's a 2011Honda Accord, and it only needs a fender" Nothing was said that it was rebuilt. I had a dialog until the car was ready to be picked up on 02/4/2022 he advised me to pay his cousin the money, and I did $6500.00 with money orders. Between February 4 and April 5, when the Temporary tag expired, we brought the car back a few times because items kept falling off, and they would fix them for me. I became somewhat concerned, and he advised that everything was ok. As mentioned earlier, I only knew the car belonged to the above dealership, and he gave me the title on April 5th, 2022. I picked up the documents, went to DMV, and titled the car; I still had no idea it was rebuilt. Once I was notified of the title status, I reached out to Mr. Brown between July 11-15thand I was advised to travel internationally. Mr. Brown returned Somewhere around September 1st; I sent a message on September 5th to connect about the car. He advised me that he would talk to his cousin and see what could be done. Since then, we have had multiple conversations until our last conversation.

On Wednesday, October 20th, he told me he was not aware the car was rebuilt, and he will again try to talk to his cousin to try and refund some of the money. I found out that my signature was forged on February 4th, 2022, to say I signed and acknowledged d the car was rebuilt. This document came from Ndaguba Auto Ltd and was given to me on April 5th at about 9 pm. I met Mr. Francis Ndaguba on April 5th; therefore, I could not sign any document. Also, my signature is not my full name written out with my gist initial and then last name. Someone forged my signature, and I have examples of my signature for which I have signed for almost 26 years. I called Mr. Ndaguba to alert him that his company was been used to facilitate illegal activities, and he immediately disconnected the call and texted me not to call him again. He seems to be aware of these activities. I’m filing an official complaint to have this company investigated and the appropriate action taken for misleading and forging my signature to include some refund of the excess paid for this car.

Desired outcome: I’m filing an official complaint to have this company investigated and the appropriate action taken for misleading and forging my signature to include some refund of the excess paid for this car.
