I was seen in a Lovelace ER in June of 05. I have Presbyterian insurance but it was an emergency. A claim was never filed to Pres. I called Lovelace and faxed them my ins. card and they said it was all taken care of. Then I started getting calls from a credit agency. I faxed them my insurance card twice and they said it was all cleared up. Then I got a call from NCO-MEDCLR. I faxed them my card. The rep was beyond rude to me. I asked her if this would go on my credit report and she said, "When you do not pay your debts, you should be punished." I explained that it is not my debt as I have insurance. I called a month later and was told that it was pending. Now, 8 months later I have sold my house and am purchasing a new one. Guess what is on my credit report!

I called NCO and patiently dealt with their hatefulness. They would put me on hold in mid-sentence and interrupted me. They said that it is my ins. fault. I called Pres. and my wonderful rep. called them with me on a conference call. They completely lied to her when she confronted them about what they were telling me. She told them to fax the info to her and she'll take care of it. NCO refused. She said, "You cant hold this poor girl accountable for your mistake." They said too bad. At one point they thought they had us on hold and we could hear them badmouthing us. Finally they agreed to mail her the info in 48 hours. We shall see. I will not back down from this. They know that Pres will deny the claim due to timely file and they are responsible now for the debt. This company is fraudulent and I will not do business with any company that uses them as their third party credit agency!

It states on my Experian credit report that I owe this company 226.00. This KD on my report began JUL07 and continues on to the present. I HAVE NO MEMORY OF ANY OPENING OF THIS ACCOUNT! ALONG WITH ANY BILL, LOAN, OR COLLECTION TO BE MADE TO THIS COMPANY. No notice in the mail either, and its killing my credit.

Beware!

I am active duty military and they pay for 100% of ALL medical expenses I have had the last five years. I looked at my credit report and for the first time I have heard of (I check it 2x year) I see an unpaid medical bill for $279 from 2005. Can't wait to call the company and talk to them tomarrow AM!

This company want what they want but not willing to give you what you need. All i need is a letter stating my balance has been paid. They told me that I have to write two seperate letters one stating that I am requesting the letter and then another letter saying that I am not disputing my payment. If I took the time to pay the balance plus the coveinence fee why do I have to write all these letters. Its not hard just send a pay off receipt. I hope I never have to deal with this company again.

I have had similar issues. Being in the U.S. Navy, I require a Secret clearance every ten years. Going through the clearance process, it came up I had a hit from NCO-MEDCLR for an ER visit that I did not know about (approx $75). It was explained it was a "Doctor" fee in addition to what was covered by the Blue Cross insurance. I did not know about it, but it was easier to pay the money than fight it. The bill was paid in March of 2009. I received a receipt and letter stating my consumer report would be updated. I waited 60 days and did not see a correction. I contacted the company and alerted them to the problem and they said they would re-submit and wait 30 days. This went on for month after month and the problem still is not fixed in June 2010. Don't expect this company to correct the CR even if you pay them.
** Since you have to spend the time fighting the bill directly with EVERY reporting agency, you might as well dispute the debt directly to the reporting agency.

I have exactly the same problem. I went to the emergency room after an auto accident. I gave my insurance card which paid 100% for ER visits. I never received any bill from any Doctor or Hospital. In 2007 MedClear started harrassing me to pay $180. I have repeatedly told them showe me ANYTHING with my signature on it and I will pay it. Any bill from the hospital or anything. They had promiced twice to send the paperwork but of course it never arrived. This has been going on for 3 years! They have been rude, snyde and condesending. I know and they know they are just trying to get FREE MONEY! Well guess what? AIN'T HAPPENING ! I would rather have a bad credit rating than to pay ONE SINGLE dime to these CROOKS and LIERS !

I was see by the local Emergency room and my bills where passed to the US Dept. Of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Emergency treatment under Code of Federal Regulations 38CFR17.1000 and payment.

Because the VA only pay part of the bill there trying to hold me for the rest of the bill that the VA did not pay.

Hear where the fun starts the person on the phone at NCO Medclear cut me off when i try to tell her:
This debt was paid in full by US Dept. Of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Emergency treatment under Code of Federal Regulations 38CFR17.1008 Code of Federal Regulation (38CFR17.1008) See: Title. 38, Sec. 17.1008. " Payment by VA under 38 U.S.C. 1725 on behalf of a veteran to a provider of emergency treatment shall, unless rejected and refunded by the provider within 30 days of receipt, extinguish all liability on the part of the veteran for that emergency treatment. Neither the absence of a contract or agreement between VA and the provider nor any provision of a contract, agreement, or assignment to the contrary shall operate to modify, limit, or negate this requirement."

When i said Thank you you be hearing from a Lawyer I was told there nothing a lawyer can do you still owe it.

I had a similar problem with NCO and more than one ER visit. The third party biller responsible for billing for the doctors never sent me a bill. I never even knew I HAD a bill. I paid all the hospital bills insurance didn't cover. I found out about the third party biller after they sold the debt to NCO and/or OSI collections (OSI works for NCO) only about 2 months after the visits!

I sent a CLRR to OSI and it was returned to me, since they have probably 100 different addresses. I called the 3rd party biller, and they sure enough, had the WRONG address, although the hospital had the correct one. I disputed this with all THREE credit bureaus, and so far they have been removed from 2 and I am waiting to hear on the last one.

I NEVER would speak with a collections company. You can say the wrong thing and it will reopen a statute of limitations. Only deal in writing and DOCUMENT everything. I know OSI collections has been in trouble with FTC for fraudulent debt.

Good luck.

Hello Everyone!

Well I'm hear to add to the list of complaints but to hopefully provide some contact information as well. I on one hand am at fault for a late payment to my hospital who afforded me the opportunity of making payments when I didn't have insurance. I had only been out of the military for a few months and hadn't picked up a job with benefits yet. So I was very appreciative to this payment plan. However, when I tried at the end of the year to make a payment less than a hundred, I was told that I could not, this is the only reason for non payment... I kept trying but was denied. I didn't understand why because everything went great this way for the first few months of payment. I didn't understand why, and I couldn't afford over $100. Next thing I know, on Christmas... yes Christmas, I saw them on my credit report. My initial issue as you can see is more with the hospital. However, NCO-MEDCLR showed up with no warning, no notification that they were attempting to collect from me, via mail or email. Not only did they show up, but they showed up six times...yes 6 times. I've never experienced such poor customer service in my life. And I'm not just saying that to trash their organization. Each person that I spoke with was not only loud and rude but treated me as I was someone beneath the average citizen. I could not get a question out from the main worker to the supervisor. The reps didn't want to listen, I could hear them talking about me in the background after forgetting to put me on hold. Loud music to inappropriate conversation was just the beginning of my experience. I was told to dispute it with the credit report. However, I can dispute it with them as well if they are the ones reporting it. They took one bill and split it up three times and then posted some of them twice. Çan you imagine being hit with six derogatory accounts on your credit report? Yes...my score dropped over 80 points immediately. I've called the hospital and found out that the actual doctor has the authority to report on you through the credit agencies and he has in fact done so. With that said, I never received a late bill notice, a notice from the collection agency stating that there is a unpaid bill and if I would like to dispute it it just showed up with no warning. To make it worse, I had a payment plan already set up, monthly, automatically with my hospital, so he is 200% wrong. This has been more than a headache.

Here is the contact information that I've been able to dig up. Hope it helps you guys. I"m going to the BBB after this and filing a complain, with the professionalism or lack of and service for NCO and MEDCLR. Which by the way are two separate organization but really they work together.

I'm also going to file complaints against the doctor who saw me.

Alright guys... good luck.. it took me a lot of digging. I pulled these from contact information give to me by phone from NCO/MEDCLR and also from my credit report. They all are pretty accurate, but I've never verified the address. Good luck to you all. If anyone has information on how to gain contact information for the doctor you saw, please pass it along.

Thank you for your time and your ear.

Ha! This company is such a rip off. I think it's been three times total that I have paid them in the last four years. They continue to say that I owe them money! I hate everything about them. My bill was (is) 159.00, that's it. Hell, I didn't even know I owed the money until I checked my credit report. I wish all of you the best..

Dispute your credit report items with the credit bureaus. My husband had 2 NCO-MEDCLR accounts on his credit and he didn't know what they were. I tried to get proof from NCO so we could pay them, but they refused. I then disputed the accounts with all 3 bureaus and they were deleted.

That is probably your best avenue for relief.

We have been trying to zero out our past due since July of 06. Since then NCO-MEDCLR has repeated listed us with the credit bureaus even though they were paid and have acknowledged that fact each month. And each month we have to track them down and each month they respond that they will contact the credit bureaus and correct the problem, though each month they continue to report us as unpaid. I probably need to take greater steps to resolve this.

But I do understand why they treat the credit problem on a whole as dead beats but we missed a payment and this IS FOR $88.00 (THAT'S EIGHTY-EIGHT DOLLARS!)

Help!
