Long-time fan of this cookie. Regular purchase. Then, for months, this cookie was off the shelf, missing, and it appeared that Nabisco was no longer making this delectable sweet.
Now it appears to be back, same pictures on the box but completely different cookie inside with some sort of squiggly line design imprinted on the top of the cookie. However, this new "ginger snap" is a pale, barely any ginger at all, hardly any molasses, cardboard cookie. This is NOT a ginger snap. So disappointed. Certainly won't be buying again.
And who is Mondelez Global - What happened to Nabisco?
Mondelez Global made a very poor decision when it completely changed the recipe. Ginger and Molasses used to be among the first ingredients listed. Now those ingredients are among the last - As in, lets bring in low-quality flour and sugar, get rid of brown sugar and keep only a token amount of that expensive ginger and molasses (just enough so we can still call it a ginger snap). Now it tastes and feels like a stiff cardboard box.

Desired outcome: Return to using the original recipe.
Nabisco ruined a very good brand name when they sold to Mondalez.
The current snaps made by Mondalez are not chewy like the original Nabisco snaps.
There is absolutely no flavor to these ERSATZ cookies.
They are like eating a roll of sheet that has been shaped by a cookie die after being rolled to a much thinner thickness and left out on the front door step to dry to a hard biscuit texture.
Really phuqed up, Nabisco.

I searched for a review on these cookies because I have been eating them since I was a child but NOW they are too sweet and horrible in comparison. I never thought to look at the ingredients but now I know. I will NEVER buy another box again. So disappointed. Why change something that has worked for years. DONE
These cookies even look fake-I just opened them and I can’t believe how they look. Much less the flavor. Why do companies do this!? Fig newtons are the same. Stale/pale looking newtons that we will never buy again.
