After a long bout of illness resulting from a skin disorder, then depression as a result of that illness, my long curly hair was matted into a huge ball. I was beginning a job hunt and did not want this hindering my appearance in job interviews. I was embarrassed at the large mass on the back of my head and would have been more embarrassed to shave it all off. I located Jeanene after seeing her on the Tyra show and seeing her YouTube videos detangling hair. She advised me that it would be $1500 for a consultation and video chat to determine whether she could work with my hair. I sent her the $1500 via western union and scheduled a video consultation which she never showed up to. An hour after we were supposed to meet she asked me to email her photos of my hair, which I did. She stated she could work with my hair. I lived in Virginia and she was located in Brooklyn NY. So I rented a car, traveled with my husband and child, booked a hotel for 3 days, then went to her salon. Upon my arrival she had a photographer there to document my “before and after”. Jeanene started putting oils in my hair, combing through with a wig needle, and got maybe one inch of my hair combed out. She put me underneath of a steamer for the remainder of the day, about 8 hours total, with maybe 20 minutes total of a break to comb hair. The rest of the day she spent taking multiple clients and doing prom hair and blowouts. Seeing the disappointment on my face, she reassured me that it was a process and we would get more done tomorrow. She charged me $500 for that day, and sent me back to my hotel with a shower cap on my head. I returned the next morning at 9am sharp. The same process occurred that day. She washed and flat ironed the small portion that she combed out. While she was doing my hair, she placed a folder full of papers on my lap and told me to read over the “contract”. The poorly written contract consisted of verbiage stating that it would be $1500 down and $1000 per day to detangle. Keep in mind that she waited until I traveled and received “services” before handing me this information. At 10pm that night, after I had been there for 13 hours with my 4 year old, she finally stopped and sent me home with my hair still matted. I had sat underneath the steamer for 2 days straight with no visible progress. She requested her payment per the contract. She was trying to charge me the full amount, not deducting the $1500 consultation or the money from the day before. I told her that I only had $150 left in my account and that was my money to travel home. I told her she could charge $100 and that’s it. She didn’t even deserve that much more money from me. She sat there with my card and kept swiping it and typing in numbers over and over again. After this went on for about 10 minutes with her not explaining what she was doing with my card, my husband snatched the card from her hand and told me to get out of there. When I later looked at my online banking, I saw about a dozen declined transactions where she had tried to charge $1000, then $900, then $800, and so forth until the transaction finally approved for $100.

This woman is a devilish thief and scammer. To prey on people who are already in a bind due to medical issues and feeling embarrassed about the way they look is awful and she should be ashamed of herself. Then to get greedy at the end and try to charge unauthorized amounts not caring about leaving me and my family stranded is just evil. DO NOT EVER do business with this witch.
