MAACS.com claims to have good customer service and to be reliable. From my experinece this is not even close to the truth. On 09-20-07 I ordered a set of ABU and never got them. I called several times and finally on 12-15-07 I spoke with someone who finally canceled the order which was a lie. I had to e-mail and call several more times and on 12-31-07 I received an e-mail stating they had canceled my order again and that I would have the charges on my credit card reversed. I still have never been reimbursed my money and no one will call me back. This company has no business claiming that "We want you to be completely satisfied with the products and services we provide, so if for whatever reason you are not pleased we will be happy to exchange, refund or offer store credit for your purchase (within 30 days, minus shipping/handling fees)." This was taken off their website and should be removed. If you do not want any problems stay away from this company. I have spoken with many people and I am not the only one that feels this way.

I too got ripped off to the tune of almost $300. I would like to file a lawsuit, just need to learn the avenue to pursue this. Additionally, I emailed Fox News tonight to see if they would cover the story. Hopefully if enough of us complain someone will cover this ruthless company.

All,
I believe Allison's home address is 334 Log Cabin Road, Arundel Maine [protected], number [protected]. I'll try this in the morning and let you know if it works.

LIARS: Add my name to the list of people who have been taken by these thieves. The ticket system is totally bogus... they are deleting any ticket asking for a refund. This company should be ASHAMED of themselves for STEALING money from hardworking Airmen who defend our Nation. I will gladly take part...

It seems as if quite a few people are going through the same ordeal ...including myself. I really don't understand how a company can do business like this and get away with it so blatantly. I've had my order in since Jan 08 as well . I can understand having a backorder issue but of this magnitude is ridiculous ! Any information to help get some results will be greatly appreciated.

Same sad story here...ordered uniforms, etc. to the tune of $300+ in Dec 07...it's now a day away from Jun 08 and the only thing I have received is a partial refund and some t-shirts and socks (which were returned) . I Filed a complaint with BBB, FTC and base legal. The BBB contacted her and she laid out a whopper of a lie and said she was waiting to hear from me so they closed the case. Don't know if it's worth the effort to refile after reading all of the other complaints. I have also tried calling several times but can never reach her. The verbage in the emails she has sent to me makes it very hard to believe that she is from the states let alone a vet. Has anyone ever visited her location or talked to her? This so called "business" has scam written all over it. If it's not a scam, she is one sad business owner and should be ashamed of herself. I've heard the same story from other AF members at my base and we are all trying to spread the word about this BS "company" as fast as we can.

I ordered in Feb O8 and received only the boots. I cancelled the order in Mar O8 and requested the remaining $625 be refunded. Nothing to date after many inquiries. Called USAA MasterCard services and was advised I must request their assistance within 60 days. USAA was unable to assist since it had been over 60 days.

I ordered 2 ABU's in Feb, and canceled them in April. Allison emailed me begging and pleading me to stay with MAACS and offered me no shipping, guaranteed service etc. I told her sorry, but I can't take her offer and that I would be going to OTS soon and would have to buy them there. Instead of refunding me she continued to debate with me. This is ridiculous. Now since Im back from training she hasn't returned her emails, and I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone via email. Im so close to sucking it up and biting the bullet on my $198.18. It just doesn't seem like anyone has the power to get there money back, and It will cost more anyway! Plus with all the time it takes, Im fed up. The only option would be to show up at her house and smack her?! Has anyone had resolution, because I haven't read one case yet! By the way USAA isn't willing to help. What now?

I have been given the runaround by this company since placing my order in October 2007. All of the testimonials above are absolutely true. She responds via the "ticket system" and asks the same questions or promises to process the refund. She and her company are stuck on stupid. I'm filing the same complaints to Maine BBB, Maine Attorney General, and any other institute that can shut this business down.

Anyone who ordered from MAACS, Inc and did not get a refund (everyone so far) please read the following message from Capt Kremmel.

A private attorney in Maine is looking into civil litigation against this company for defrauding hundreds of service members. If you are interested in joining any action against this company, please email your contact information and a copy of any sales receipt to:

sal@savatterilawfirm.com

I have personally spoken to this attorney so if you have any questions, give me a call. Additionally, if you know of anyone else who ordered from MAACS please pass this along to them. Thanks!

I feel badly for all of you service men and women who have been taken by this company. They treat their employeees with the same disrespect. They laid off many caring employees last month.
One of these employees they had charged for health insurance she never got. The first pay check she got with the wrong deduction amount was brought to Allison's attntion. She gave her a check for the error. THE CHECK BOUNCED. Allison sadi she did not understand why the check bounced and gave her cash. The same thing happened on the next pay check. Again Allison gave her a check. IT BOUNCED AGAIN. At this point she called Andy (Allison's husband) and told him want has been going on. He was very angry with his wife and gave the employee cash for the checks that bounced. He also said the account the check was written on had been closed.

I DISAGREE. Why would you ever order your ABUs online? YOU KNOW how many problems there are with the shades/colors and YOU KNOW there are [still] a lot of problems getting the ABUs to Military Clothing and Sales. SO WHY would you go nuts paying for a uniform that isn't mandatory till 2011? GET REAL. I ordered some ABU accessories (green fleece, the new belts, etc) and I got everything with no problems. Come on, you should know better! You're airmen - how about some SITUATIONAL AWARENESS?

Hey CE Guy, thanks for helping out! If only your brilliance had been around before we placed our orders. Give yourself a pat on the back for being so smart! You actually threw in some SITUATIONAL AWARENESS crap too. You are a true tool. Anyway, I have been fighting MAACS since January to get back the $332.75 they charged me in October for an order I never received. Today's excuse was that they are sending refund checks to people AND refunding their credit/debit cards. So, they are supposedly double refunding people. We will see what the next excuse/lie is.

Careful folks who knows if CE guy is who he says he is... who comes to a complaint site with no complaint just to rag on his fellow Airmen. And thats Airmen with a CAPITAL "A". Who cares if the tops dont match the bottom. The are quite a few AF personnel waking around with tops not matching bottoms, thats an AF problem... besides MAACS said when I initially made my purchase that they indeed WOULD MATCH. Thats great that you got all your stuff on time as for the rest of us, the money that we work for is at stake. So if you dont bring anything to the fight please dont patronize us.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has been having problems with this company. I ordered an ABU APECS back in Dec 2007. I've been trying to cancel and get my refund from them with no progress. It's been 2mos now trying to get a refund. I've emailed and even used the ticket service they had. That was a joke. I got a response back from MAACs to contact my credit card company to reverse the charges. Has any had any progress when the file a complaint with the BBB or base legal? I hope this company gets sued for false advirtisement. Don't order from this company. Not but bad business.

I have had the same problem. The ticket system is a joke and I payed for my items back in January. It has been six months and countless e-mails back and forth. Finally they said for me to call my credit card company for a reversal of the charges. The ###ed up thing about that is that they charged my card 6 months ago and I have a sixty day window to file for a reversal. I sent them an e-mail stating this fact and still havent heard back from them. Its been 2 weeks and they owe me 300 dollars. I am very pissed off about this whole deal. What a scam.

Does anyone know how MAACS stands with the BBB. Just like the rest of you, with the exception of the CE genius, I placed my order back in Nov of 2007. No response to emails, and just answering machine when I call, no matter what dept. I choose. I just hope I can get my money back. Can't squeeze blood out of a turnip so I'm probably SOL. Oh, CE guy, most of the troops didn't know there was a color mismatch at the time the order was placed. Some of us like to be pro-active to the 2011 deadline and set an example for the younger Airmen. What were your ASVAB scores again?

I was told about this company Maacs by a friend. He still has not gotten his. I am stationed here at lackland afb and besides clothing and sales there are two locations outside that sell the uniform. I purchased a set from each. The good thing about that is that I know from who I am buying from. They both sell good ABU'S and with the mess of having the uniform match. I was able to get two sets outside the base. I am glad I ran into this site.

Same issue here, 293.55 for ABU's since 9/27/2007 I call everyday and leave messages. I’ve emailed and even done the cancel request form on their "new" ticket system to get my money back.

Latest I’ve heard was GSA is pulling this companies contract for numerous complaints received

I'm disputing charges on credit card used and filing a complaint with BBB.

These people are horrible. They are now only open 3 days a week. They do live in a mansion, it's on Hemlock Creek, Portland, big gated mansion, with several garage bays, tennis court, all the ammenities. One of the previous post stated that they drive Hummer, yes, that's correct, new Hummer!
They treat their employees just as bad, it's like a sweatshop. Somebody should get these people...

QUICK REFUND- After Four months i went back to my credit card company and told them what happened, the next day the money was back on my card! Everyone should do this, so much easier, and then Maacs has to prove they shipped anything out to get their money.

I’m a victim as well; I ordered 1 set of ABU’s for my husband back in Oct of 07 and never received them. I canceled my order in Jan of 08 and was told by e-mail my refund check would be cut on that Fri and sent out, it’s July and I still haven’t received a refund. I’ve also put in a compliant to the Better Business Bureau but apparently MAACS told them that they’ve tried to get in contact with me to give me a refund but was unable to( A Lie). I’ve tried calling them numerous times but I never get to talk to a real person only voice mail. My calls are never returned and my e-mails always say that they are taking care of my refund. Hopefully someone in the military can push this up the Chain of Command to have this Company put on a black list, are Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines deserve better.

SAME experience here. Of course. Order placed 14 Novembr 2007 for a total of 312 dollars and change. Still no refund. Have gotten all of the same run-around as everyone has detailed and am now at the point where my ticket support questions are ignored. PLEASE e-mail me if anyone gets any further with legal action or actually gets refunded in full!

The MacDonald's have been spending your money and living in the lap of luxury. This has gone on too long. If you have already emailed and tried the ticket system, and have documented your efforts, please please please call the authorities. Allison MacDonald is not returning emails and phone calls, she doesn't care. She's only trying to delay the inevitable. I hope this sorry excuse for human life sees some serious jail time for fraud. The only thing left for us to do here is to pursue legal action.

Same story here, My order went in Oct 07 and they still owe me 2 complete sets of ABU's to include all the accouterments to the tune of $260.40. No reponses or emails returned either. A total POS business that needs to suffer the consequences. Maybe someone can alert 20/20 and have them do a piece on these criminals.

MY STORY MIRRORS THE REST. PAID FOR ABU'S, DIDN'T RECEIVE ITEM, CANCELLED ORDER, 6 MONTHS LATER STILL GETTING THE RUNAROUND ABOUT MY REFUND. THIS IS A PATHETIC COMPANY WHO USES THE "VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS" AS ADVERTISEMENT, AND TREATS US IN THE FASHION. THERE IS NO INTEGRITY IN THIS BUSINESS AND THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS. CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU TO FILE A COMPLAINT! MAACS INC, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!1

I have been trying to get my refund for ABU's that were never delivered and despite the several chances I have given to the owner, I have still not recieved my refund. This has been going on since December 07 and they have still not responded to my last 3 attempts to contact them. The last information I had gotten from them was that a check would be sent by the end of July...guess what, still no check.
We in the military don't make a hell of alot of money and it is sad to see a company that is only interested in stealing our money. I noticed that Allison Macdonald even posted a coment on here claiming to be comitted to correcting these problems. I have spoken to her via email personally and still nothing has been resolved. GIVE BACK OUR MONEY, YOU HAVE NOT PROVIDED THE SERVICES THAT WE HAVE PAID FOR!

Great news for those who filed complaints with the Maine Attorney General's office. According to correspondence I received this week, the AG is filing an unfair trade practices lawsuit against MAACS. I dont have high hopes of getting a refund, but I'm optomistic that Allison's "scheme" will come to an end. Not sure if jail time will be an option.

I've been waiting since oct, over 30 emails, tickets deleted and not answered, no calls answered. This company needs to go down and hard. I will give them credit though for the following from the BBB: (directly from the BBB site)

Each of the businesses listed have an exorbitant number of complaints for BBB’s three year reporting period. As of July 3, 2008, the top three most complained about companies are:

• Direct Marketing Concepts, Inc. – Beverly, MA
• TLC Marketing – Boston, MA
• M.A.A.C.S., Inc. – Portland, ME

The McDonald's should be put in prison for along time for treating our service members this way.

Same story as everyone else. Ordered in Dec 2007 4 sets of ABUs. To date have received 2 shirts and name tapes. Have made several attempts at contacting them, to no avail. MAACS now has $366.19 of mine. Just opened 1 more ticket after seeing the last post from Flyfisher. Maybe I will catch MAACS on a good day and will actually get a response. Doubt it though! This company pisses me off.
