On April 18, 2011 my husband and I purchased what we were told was a 2.10 ct SI2-I round diamond in a gold solitaire setting (not sure if 14 or 18 carat gold). The sales girl is Jessica John. Unfotunately we do not remember the manager or the jewelers name. The jeweler was a woman from I believe India. She was taking the so called diamond out of the gold ring and putting it in my Tacori setting engagement ring. A few years back when my spouse bought me the ring, we could not afford a real 2 ct diamond. We have been looking ever since for a real 2 ct diamond. I bought a 2 ct lab created diamond from Nexxus labs online for $250.00 I sure they could provide the date of purchase if I cannot locate my receipt. This was to use in my ring until we could afford to purchase a real one. We thought we came across a really good deal at Little Switzerland Jewelry store. They said they were remoldeling the store so it was discounted. It cost $6, 000.00 and they gave us a copy of a diamond appraisal certificate which stated it was appraised at $23, 567.00. She had us look at the stone before placing it in the ring. We left the store and went shopping while they were setting the stone. We went back to pickup my ring and they had taken my stone and put it in the gold ring. I know this for a fact because their stone was a little to big for my 2 ct setting and did not sit straight. They bent the prongs trying to set it. There was a manager older man heavy set, the sales girl Jessica John, the jeweler, and a blond woman from I'm guessing one of their other stores. I believe they all knew the stone they put in my ring was not real. I noticed a little while later on the cruise ship that the stone had gotten cloudy after I took my shower. I mentioned it to my spouse and kept looking at it and wondering if I was being to picky because I knew it had flaws. The next day we were in barbados and we did not really talk about it until that night on the ship. The next port we talked to a jeweler who said he thought the stone was fake and we should have it checked when we get home. We went to several other jewelry stores who had diamond testers and tested it and each time it was tested, it was found to be fake. We talked to the shopping guy Anthony and he agreed to go with us to the Little Switzerland store in St Marten. We went their and we asked them to check the diamond. They said they did not have a diamond tester so Anthony went to one of the ship recomended stores and got a tester and showed the sales reps and the manager that the stone was infact fake. They called in a person by the name of Stephen Sandnes, professional inovation consultant with NXP mgmt co. who took us to the back of the store while he consulted with Kathy McAlister, customer service manager, Drew Beaideto VP of operations, and Tom Balles regional mgr. They led us to believe they were going to investigate and get us our diamond we thought we had bought. We came home and have been in contact with them. Today they accused us of switching the diamond which is a bold faced lie. we are more than willing to take lie detector tests to show we are being truthful. Also as a christian, GOD knows we are being totally honest and we did not switch the stone it was fake and is still fake. we plan on telling everyone. This should not be allowed. this store should be closed for business so they do not do this to someone else. give lie detectors to those people involved. lets see whos really lying. We filed with BBB in Florida, but, they dropped the case. They said we had no evidence. Not true, we do have receipts and documentation given to us at time of sale.

After reading your post here, I will tell you that I am a "GRADUATE GEMOLOGIST" as well as an online personal jeweler. And I will tell you right now that an I color, SI2 clarity round diamond will "NEVER" be $6000.00 UNLESS the seller is either a jewel thief who's trying to sell his stolen merchandise as soon as possible, or the seller has inherited this stone and they don't know the true value of it. Also a round diamond of this quality will never be as valuable as the appraisal you got for this "ALLEGED" 2.10 carat I color, SI2 clarity round diamond you purchased for $6000.00

I have a diamond that is 2.14 carats total weight and it is I color, SI2 clarity and my diamond has EXCELLENT polish and symmetry with NO FLUORESCENCE. The cost of my diamond is $19, 500.00 and my diamond is GIA certified, so if you paid $6000.00 for a diamond of this quality you were bound to be taken from the door.

I must say that is so unfortunate how long i've been on this site trying to educate and help many of the members here who've been taken by either jewelry stores or online jewelers, and no one has come to me for my advice nor help. So I just log onto this site for a good laugh when I read some of the jewelry posts here.

I wish you luck on proving your case to someone because you should have done your homework well before you forked over $6000.00 for a diamond that will never be that cheap UNLESS it is as cloudy as a cold winter's day, and even if it were cloudy it would NEVER cost $6000.00 no matter the fact that it may have been a 2.10 carat diamond.
