I had an amazinggggg first experiance at Lady Farrell's Salon And Spa. I went on a Friday night and got service immediately. They had complimetary wine and the salon itself had a very relaxed look. The people there were all kind and I felt like I was right at home. My hair came out great and I HIGHLY recommend this salon to everybody!

Sharod is an excellent stylist. I will admit that the assistants are young but isn't that the case in almost every hair salon. I have never received bad service from any of the assistants that work there they were all polite and well mannered. I get many compliments everytime I get my hair done. I would reccomend Sharod to anyone looking for a new creative stylist especially if you're looking for a short cut he is very good.

I would like to share my horrible experience with service at Lady Farrell Spa and Salon. I visited the salon several times getting different services and watching the stylists and discussing what I would like to have done to my hair in the future. I explained that because I work out in the gym 3 - 4 times a week, I needed something versatile that would not require a lot of maintenance and that I could make work on a daily basis for work and other activities. We discussed twists, braids, press and curl, etc. After much discussion, it was decided that the best style would be what is called a dry wave - - wave neuveau, which I had used several years ago. I made an appointment and two weeks later, went in to have my hair styled. I had been promised that the owner would do my hair and that the product they used was not wave neuveau but was a new product which was superior to wave neuveau. I arrived for my appointment 10 - 15 minuts early and proceeded to sit and wait for 3 and a half hours before being taken back to get shampooed. Then, a young lady said that she would be doing my hair and I assumed she knew what she was doing. She consulted with the owner, Donna, before each step in the process. The owner never acknowledged me in any way. The service was a disaster! I have been back several times and had to wait 2 - 3 hours to be seen even though I had an appointment and the style was never done correctly. After my last visit, the owner decided that they should cut the damaged hair off and wait two weeks and try the process again. No way was I going to allow them to cut my hair if I could not trust them to style it correctly. I walked out with my hair standing up on my head because I was so angry and frustrated. I plan to file a complaint in Harrisburg and possibly small claims court. My hair is damaged beyond belief.

I have received svc from this salon in the past. When I first walked in (the old location), i liked the atmosphere and the professional appearance of the staff. I have followed them to the new location, love the appearance of this salon as well. I do have a few concerns, that i feel as though can be addressed and changed. #1. Wait time has to change. It makes no since @ all to schedule a client for 0900 and not began being serviced until [protected], this is unacceptable.
#2. When it's my turn to have my service done, i don't need my stylist running around the salon interacting with other clients or staff. My time is important to me just as it is to you. Take time out for me when it's my turn.
#3 Acknowledge ur clients when ur running behind schedule, let them know u haven't forgot their waiting and will be with them.

Stylist are very good, main stylist is awesome, but i think the wait time really needs to be looked at, as well as front desk operations. There should be a protocol with regard to the minimum wait time.

I totally agree that this place is a joke. They are very unprofessional and do not realize that customer satisfaction is important to the business. I have experienced very rude behavior. They act like they are doing you a favor because they are doing your hair. I've waited for a stylist as she was doing the receptionist hair and I had the appt. There are a lot of young people that work there that are not licensed and are allowed to color and perm your hair. Beware people, customers deserve to be treated with respect. You are don't have to settle for less.

Why do people have to be hating bcuz their telling the truth. I am speaking from experience. The first time I went there, I ducked out of work to get my hair and other stuff done... Well I never got the other stuff done. TaliA did my hair and did a good job, but my God it took all day. I got there at 10 am and when we left it was dark outside. I can't for the life of me figure out why it takes so long. But overall my hIr was sharp and I was happy. I went back again aNd I sat so long this time that I became outraged, I told them I had to go and rescheduled my appointment. Well when I went again the stylist wasn't even there. I'm like what da he'll! So I left but this time for good. These people are not making up these stories. The customer service is horrible. I am not bald and I'm not ugly. I'm also not hating I give props when props r due. But this place needs work! I have chosen to look elsewhere to get my hair done.

In all fairness to both sides I haven't experienced the damaged hair aspect of what you guys are discussing. But I did experience the rudeness. I came there looking to get my hair done and the young lady at the front counter was attentive yet unprofessional. My sister was with me and she was accompanying me while I was being prep by the shampoo lady however, the owner and her floor manager were looking at us with an unwanted stare. I didn't say anything to my sister because I try to believe that it wasn't anything but then my sister mentiioned it to me. While the stylist was doing my hair the receptionist came to her and asked her for my monies because she was about to "leave" for the day. I thought that was unprofessional because I wasn't done gettting my hair done. I thought to myself how many people walked out of here without paying? I then asked for a receipt and the floor manager said to me with a tone "what do you need a receipt for!" I said, "WOW"! I usually get receipts with all purchases. He then rolled his eyes and told me to go see my stylist for a receipt. This is why I do not get upset when Micheal Basden talks about black folks not patronizing each other. You try to patronize your own kind but they always leave you with a bitter taste and your pockets over charged. That place needs some training in professionlism.

I am like sooooooooooooooo sick of the word "hater" it is soooooooooooooooo OVERRATED! First all why would you go back to a salon who messed your hair up not "1" but several times and was rude on top of that?! SMH...now that that's out the way why is it that when someone disagrees or just don't like something they have to be hating? How bout you come to the "reality" that you just can't do hair rather you have a license or not plain & simple! I saw pics on Facebook AND walked in the salon last week and saw NOTHING spectacular and would make better doing my own hair. Half the people posting here probably work there anyways which explains the immaturity nature of their posts. Instead of insulting people because they don't like your work how bout you go back to school and get a GED(Good Enough Diploma...LMAO) or better yet get a dictionary before you call yourself posting that crap up on here!

This is a great salon. Shout out to sharod and donna! keep up the great work, service and all the other excellent things you do. For someone to take there time and say these things means they don't get there hair done often. They are all professionals! and as far as assitants they assit no matter the age!

I think a lot of you need to stop spending all of your time in a hair salon and try spending more time in a library or book store. You might also want to save some of the money you're giving Lady Farrell and use it to take some remedial reading classes, which might help improve your spelling, which in some cases is not only atrocious, but embarrasing.

I am a former client of Sharod's. Yes, Sharod is an excellent stylist and personable. However, I am an adult and when I make an appointment I expect it to be kept and to be out of the shop in a reasonable amount of time. Sharod has people coming in for appointments before he is there so this is one of the reasons why he is so behind. I have not encountered damaged hair but I did have a color issue and I expected a licensed stylist to know how to fix it and Sharod did not. I went back later and Jasmine correctted it. I am not sure where to check for a license but I have been told lately that not only does Sharod not have a beautician's license but he is also lacking an HS diploma/GED. With that being said, if he has no diploma/GED, he can't have a license. I won't knock him because stylist wise he is good but should go and get the proper training to shut down the so called "haters". If he was on point with timing I would still go to him even without the license because I don't know about the rest of you but I have patronized people without a license that do hair out of there houses. Also, he could take a few lessons in humility and maybe he will learn to better manage his business. I think he is very young and let his talent and ablility to make decent money go to his head.
The assistants are young but I can't think of many salons I've been to and they weren't. That job is not one that will atract an adult as it pays little money and some of the customers don't tip. I have never been treated rudely with the exception of waiting too long and having people who walked in after me get services before me. I liked all the assistants who were all well mannered.

Just did some searching on the internet and looked up all people with the last name Ambrose and first inital S in the state of PA who have a cosmotology license and Sharod was not on the list. Sharod has an expired Barber Examiners. This allows Sharod authority to practice barbering temporarily when its not expired. The Link is below
