I would like you folks to see the enclosed comments from the Director of labs4rescue; Cathy at the facility in Killingworth, CT, when I tried to get her to reduce or waive the application fee and adoption fee, due to the dogs condition, age and underlying and unseen medical and social issues.

Personally, I sense the fees are unreasonably high and even discriminatory for the elderly and low-income, due to the dogs condition medically and socially, which is very costly to remedy. I think such a request is reasonable and the response from her is outrageous and unprofessional.
and further think, my opinion only, that the dogs are being sold ($380.00) and the application and adoption fees are just a game of semantics.

Director Cathy stated:

"I am going to assume you were just clueless to the issues surrounding rescue, when you asked that the fee be waived. I would now expect that having been educated in this process, that you would be more than enthusiastic to pay an adoption fee to enable us to save more labs! Each adoption fee paid, allows us to save labs. Someone who doesn't pay a fee, is in actuality, causing labs to die".

I intend to send this to everyone with an interest, as I cannot understand the personal attack and lack of professionalism. It certainly makes me question her credo and belief system with regard to the rescue of these poor dogs.

LABS4 RESCUE IS ALL POLITICS AND CONTROLL FREAKS. NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE DOGS. THERE ARE 2 VERY FAMOUS FOR THEIR CONTROLLING AND SNOTTINESS. VERY RUDE TO PEOPLE AND THE DOGS. NOT WORRIED WHERE THEY BOARD THEM. DISGUSTING. C AND A YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

I agree with Zachary S.
To help further rescues, a fee must be paid by the "adopter"...however you should be made aware of the dogs age, or any issues regarding health.I have "rescue" pets and I have never had an issue paying for them because the funds go to helping further rescues actually take place. When you adopt, you need to be able to commit to the dogs health and longevity by providing your wonderful new addition with the care he/she deserves because you adopted him/her.The rescue place rescued the poor dog...they did their part.I cannot understand why now you want them to take on even more responsibility.I am wondering now, where IS this dog...back in rescue or dumped at the humane society...(sorry...just have seen things like this happen too frequently)
