The landlord listed above, through its rep, Steve Chapin, had me leave $4,550.00 as a security deposit and not only kept the whole deposit when I moved out, but sent me a bill on top of it. Here is the kicker, now he is threatening to sue me for slander for just warning people not to rent from them?! Here is the other kicker, I am a pregnant mother raising an 11 year old on my own, during these economic times. I wonder who the judge in my small claims court will side with, a pretty greedy landlord in Santa Monica, or a mom trying to make it today. Also, he claims not to be the landlord. It is just a weird set of circumstances. For your own good, steer clear!

After he lost in court, the landlord's rep, Steve Chapin (denies being the landlord but is) sent me this email right before the judgment was due to be paid "We have decided to appeal the case. My understanding is that it will be 60-90 days for the court case. To get this behind us we would forego the appeal and pay you today or tomorrow if you simply retract your untrue statements that you put on the web. A simple “I retract all statements I made about L. Chapin Enterprises, LLC, Vision Internet, Steve Chapin and Lillian Chapin. I am sorry.”

This costs you nothing to retract your defamatory statements. If you are willing to do that then I will meet you at Bank of America today or tomorrow."

What a [censored]

Losing party has decided not to pay the judgment and has threatened to file an appeal. They are real pieces of !@%$? They lost, and they still want to keep it going. Well I have a good plan up my sleeves, they will lose big time!

Landlord lost in court and was ordered to return most of the deposit back to me. Judge saw right through them.
