This company did a very poor job in shaving off the bottom of one interior door after new carpet was installed. There were 3 doors in total. One door they shaved the wrong end resulting in them having to purchase a new door, reinstall the original hardware and repaint. Hardware was reinstalled well, but it took a couple of times of refitting to get it right. This new wood door had a wood stain that they did not cover up with paint. I had to repaint twice to make it look normal.
The second door going to the garage was one I wanted to be repainted. Again, their paint did not cover the wood stain markings requiring me to repaint 2 coats. The problem was in how they reinstalled the hardware - hinges and door latches. At first it seemed they did a decent job, but months later the door fell off its hinges which my husband fixed and now the door latch is loose and feels sloppy to open and close. This door gets the most use, so it's annoying that the latch is not functioning adequately now. I twice reached out to the owner, Shane Brown, to tighten... No Response.
Country of complaint: United States
Desired outcome: We want this door latch to be tightened to function as before they touched it.interior
We had a poor experience with Konge Construction as well. Our reveiw is here:
Konge Construction Review
We hired Konge Construction to work on several areas of our home, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. While the company and its owner, Shane Brown, initially gave us confidence that they knew what they were doing, the quality of the work and attention to detail did not meet expectations.
Hardwood Flooring: The entire hardwood floor needs to be pulled up and reinstalled correctly. It was not properly laid down, and several areas were not done according to the specifications.
Windows: The windows that were installed were not compliant with home owner association standards and did not match any other window in the house.
Roofing: The roof installation was another major failure. It needs to be completely torn off and reinstalled correctly.
Beyond the large issues, there were several smaller mistakes that added up. Each time we checked on the work, there were items that had to be addressed or corrected. We were often met with resistance when requesting fixes, which only added frustration to an already stressful situation.
Despite being promised a completion date of February 2025, the project has not been finished. Shane Brown, the owner, quit in April, leaving the job either unfinished or poorly completed.
Given the ongoing problems and lack of follow-through, we have hired a new contractor to come in, correct the work, and finish the job that Konge Construction left incomplete.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Konge Construction. While the team may have had good intentions, the final product was far from satisfactory, and the project management was lacking. We hope others can avoid the frustration we’ve experienced by considering other contractors for their home projects.
