Saying the property manager is incompetent is an understatement. In order to move in, we needed to pay $775 security deposit, $500 for our2, 4lb chihuahuas, $825 for 1st months rent and had to purchase renters insurance. Fine. dandy. My boyfriend and I had to move to Buffalo for his job and were unable to actually visit the site before moving in, but I was excited as the pictures the property manager had sent me made the apartment look huge and desireable. What we got was not at all what we expected. So small. Its Buffalo, not NYC. The price for the size does not match up. On the side of the building it states Kissling Interest...Buffalos finest apartments. Complete BS! We paid $25 for each car a month, yet Monday through Friday anyone was allowed to park for free. Being that this building was located downtown and right across the street from the Mansion, there were many times we, people who pay for there spots, had no where to park. Yet...our friend came up on a Friday night to help us move and her car got towed. There were a total of 6 cars in a 20+ lot. Wtf. Ok.elevator. 5 floor building. We lived on the 4th for. The elevator was out of service from July 4th 2013 till the day we moved on November 30th 2013. The maintenance crew looks to be in exsistance, they do stand around outside and smoke their cigs, but it seems nothing ever gets fixed. Oh...but they have absolutely no problem coming into your apartment every other week to "check your fire alarms". Get real. Do your job right the 1st time and leave everyone alone! Our next door neighbor was very obnoxious and very disrespectful. It wasn't abnormal for him to knock on our door in the middle of the night to ask us if he could walk through our apartment to go through the window because he somehow locked himself out. Like seriously. Yeah, we shared a balcony and that was annoying enough. He screwed something in his wall and the screws came through to our living room half way down the whole wall. You could hear everything through the wall...I mean EVERYTHING. Disgusting. Ok so let's get to the point of this entire rant. We moved out on November 30. Had nothing in the apartment for 12 days because we got rid of everything to move out of state except for an air mattress and our clothing. Cleaned the entire apartment top to bottom and it sure looked way better than it did when we moved in. It was snowing, super cold. Couldn't wait to get up outta there. Called property manager to ask where we should leave the keys since it was a Saturday and they are out of the office. She said lock the door then slide keys underneath, which we did. 2 apartment keys 2 mailbox keys and our car key fob. Lease says it takes up to 60 days for them to return security deposit. It was getting around day 40 and so I start calling. Oh who woulda guessed? No answer, so within the next week and a half, I left probably 8 voicemails, talked to the front desk lady and emailed property manager twice. She finally emailed me back saying she had till the end of the month and to "take care". Today January 25 2014, we received a deposit of $325. $460 less than what we paid. And here is why they feel we should be screwed out of $400. $30 for 3 clean ice cube trays we left in the freezer. $10 for top of mantel not being wiped, (which it was). $95 saying the fridge was not wiped and cleaned, (which it was).$105 to repaint wall in bathroom which was not needed. I had those wall decals that just peel off and forgot to peel them off. Actually gave character to the dull look of the place, but maybe they weren't smart enough to try to pull them off and painted over them. Who knows. But I guess if you're too dumb Saying the property manager is incompetent is an understatement. But I guess if youre not smart enough to figure this out, you can have my $105. Thanks. Ok now, let's check under miscellaneous...$250! WHAT? says we left window open and took off radiator valves? The whole 12 months we lived there, we didn't use the radiator. It was always so hot from everyone underneath us 3 floors. Disgustingly hot. So what are you people talking about? And as far as the window being open, that's a negative. It was absolutely freezing out. We would not have had it open. My guess is that Property manager never went and did a walk through when we left. She probably slacked off and forgot about it until I started calling a month and a half later. Chances are the annoying next door neighbor cracked open the window knowing we were gone and had parties in there. Also she said one set of keys was missing, yet we had left both sets on 1 key ring, so how is that possible? Your guess is as good as mine. She also sent us pictures of what was supposedly dirty, and its not dirty. So I will be contacting a lawyer since the letter she sent states that if there are any disputes, you must get a lawyer. And so it is...
