Hope you are well.
I am writing to you regarding my problem with an online school named * Kings interhigh *.
Firstly:
My daughter Noora has been attending a school called * My online schooling* . For 1 year namely year 9 that online school has never charged me except the school fees which amounted to over 3000 pounds per year as it was a private school.
My daughter passed and got good grades in her year 9 with my online schooling.
However * Kings interhigh school* bought my online school and my daughter joined them for year 10.
Secondly :
Upon starting the year 10, we had to sign a new contract with this new online school which over took the old school and ended up paying 500 pounds deposit, in which they forced parents to pay in order to enrol the child.
However at that time they assued us parents that they will give us the complete deposit back if we decided to leave the school at any given point upon giving a notice.
Thirdly:
I have been monitoring Nooras school grades and progress for year 10 and found out that this school is not giving her the necessary support needed like her previous online school, and sensed that there is a racial discrimination going on for kids of colour.
They put too much presure on children and end up giving low grades even though my daughter had additional private tutors support after school clubs and so on.
She had additional German language classes and after paying the fee for this additional subject we did not even get enough support, so we had to leave and drop that subject and the money paid was still lost.
I waited till the end of year 10,
and at that point I decided to look for another school, which can help my daughter reach her deserved grades for her hard work which I personally support as she is my only child and I invest heavily on her education.
Finally,
We have finished year 10 in July 2024.
In the second week after the school summer break, I informed the school that Noora is leaving in August 2024 and that was early august 2024 when I informed them.
Once I informed the school of my decision, kings interhigh refused to acknowledge this and insisted that I pay the 1st semster of the new academic year which started sept 2024.
They stated that I was liable for the 1st semester payment since I have informed them late of my descion to leave their school and that the contract I signed has that unfair term.
I tried to explain that due to my change of circumstances I had to withdraw from the school and that they can even deduct term one fee charges which is 380 pounds, from the deposit I paid which was 500 pounds, and to pay me the remaining amount of my deposit after deducting their unfairly charged term 1 fee, to close this case.
An unfair resolution in my opinion but I suggested so we can resolve this unreasonable dispute and move on to solving this problem.
I sent kings interhigh numerous complaints and asked them to send me their complaints procedure.
But no answer to date, in fact they kept on sending invoice the last one requesting me to pay 800 plus pounds an amount which I have no idea how they calculated this.
They took my deposit of 500 pounds and refused to give this back unfairly and on top of this they now asking to pay them more.
I have googled this school and found out that many people complaint about them.
I found lots of complaints which you can only read half of the complaint made online by different individuals, who had the same experience with this school.
However,kings interhigh has made an obvious arrangements with online professionals who have removed the real content of those public complaints.

I wonder who regulates these private online schools who seem to think they can overcharge consumers unfairly and threaten them to take legal unfair action against them if they do not pay .
As a mother of only one child an as a single mother who works really hard to provide for her only child, I ask you to help me seek justice against these type of unprofessional and dishonest academic institutions, who claim to be an online school .

Claimed loss: I paid a deposit of 500 pounds which is stolen by this school.
Desired outcome: To give me back the remaining of my money I paid 500- 380 to deduct for first semster than the remaining to be paid back to me.
