KEY WEST FORD VANCOUVER:Misleading sale and predatory behaviour by your salesperson
· The 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid I bought from your dealership was advertised at $22,000 CAD, yet the final deal you pushed on me ballooned to about $31,000, and with financing I will end up paying nearly $39,000 CAD. This outrageous increase was caused by hidden fees, extra insurance, and unnecessary add-ons slipped into the contract during signing.
· I feel deceived and financially exploited, and I strongly believe that the salesperson who handled my contract took advantage of my situation — I was a new immigrant to Canada at that time and not fluent in English, which made it extremely difficult for me to understand the contract details and recognize the extra charges being added.
· To make things perfectly clear: at almost the same time, I bought a brand-new Nissan Versa Note for my wife from another dealership for $22,000 CAD. It also had a 7-year financing plan, exactly like the Ford. After those seven years, the total I paid for the brand-new Nissan was only $25,000 CAD total — no hidden fees, no fake insurance, no manipulation. So how is it possible that a used Ford Fusion with the same 7-year financing ends up costing me $39,000, while a brand-new Nissan under identical terms costs only $25,000? That alone proves that something very wrong and unethical happened during my transaction at Key West Ford.
· After the sale I discovered incorrect fuses (30 amp instead of 25 amp) inside the vehicle. This dangerous alteration directly caused both windshield-wiper motors to burn out during a heavy rainstorm at night, leaving me completely without visibility — a terrifying and unsafe situation that could have led to an accident. When I contacted Key West Ford for replacements, I was told the wiper motors were completely out of stock. After everything else, that answer felt like just another excuse to avoid responsibility.
· My 2009 Pontiac Montana trade-in (100,000 km, new battery, perfect condition) was valued at only $400, an insulting amount far below market value and clearly used to manipulate the final numbers of the deal.
This was not a misunderstanding — it was predatory behaviour. Someone saw a customer who struggled with English and used that as an opportunity to take advantage. That is unacceptable.
