Went to Affordable Dentures in Tucson, Dr. Kevin Givens and left, without dentures or repair
The first words out of his mouth were...'The problem is'
Then he wanted me to witness the 'problem' that required us to pay for another upper plate for my mother, age 90
When I called, they did not tell me that there would be an x-ray, adding $65 to the bill
I think every dentist should state all possible charges, so the client can consider it all, before departing on a 90 minute drive, wasting $30 in fuel
When they hit me with the additional and undisclosed fee, I backed out on the bottom partial plate and when they started finding problems with the denture, we didn't even have that work done
It seems that Dr. Kevin Givens was determined not to do a repair and he only wanted to sell us a new upper plate
My mother has Alzheimer's disease and she doesn't know when she bought the dentures and both she and I told this guy that, but he kept trying to get her to testify that they were more than 10 years old, so he would have an excuse for selling us a new plate
I see many complaints here and I'm very reluctant to do business with any company which allows their members to run 'bait and switch' operations, because such practices are against the law
The state of Arizona is not doing their job, either
If the dentures are not made well and they make people look like a 'donkey' as one guy said...or they are not level, then we don't need to do business with this affiliated group.
When I had a business I was harrassed to join the BBB. It was horrible. They are definative not a credible company. They are expensive to join especially for a new company and I had to go down there twice to tell them to stop calling and mailing me crap. This was a dozen years ago in Tucson. I have a perfect dentist I found in Mexico. I hate dentists but I had all my healthy teeth pulled out because most had crowns on them and I had so many shady dentists it was pathetic. I had a surgeon in Casa Grande leave guaze in my mouth for six monhs and denied i was in there as she pulled it out of my mouth smelling like infection. Then she said she would give me a discount on a skin graph. I said no [censored]...it will be free. It fell out in two hours. I went to get my medical records and she said I didnt have any. She was the only person in the office. She answered the phones and asked me to change the ink in the copier because she was too stupid to know how to do it. She was in my preferred insurance oral surgeons the only one near me. She only wanted cash and asked me how much the insurance said she would charge. She had no idea. She wouldnt take a credit card. I have permanent gum damage because of this stupid twit. I am now getting impant dentures all on 8 and the process is a dream. I only went here because my dentist said i should get a bone graph before I get a bridge. What a horrible idea. Her info is Roya Zojaji, DDS, MS - Casa Grande Periodontics & Dental Implants
The above complaint sounds like an over reaction. I also noticed that Dr. Givens has an "A" rating from the Tucson BBB. Check out Aspen Dentals reviews online: over 600 complaints! I think Dr. Givens should be proud if this complaint is his worse one!
