I was visiting McMinnville with my kid on his birthday when I saw a sign for helicopter rides for $20 so I spent about an hour trying to find the way in. When I got there, one of the pilots was really nice and told me he was starting the helicopter and we could ride when he was done testing but then the owner came out and told us we would have to pay $75 if we wanted to ride. Total rip off! You get drawn in by a misleading sign then get ripped off when you get there, Way to go Jerry Trimble Helicopters. You do not stand behind your product and rip people off when they get there. Why?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
All they care about is your money! They sound so Nice and reasonable but keep this isn mind! All they care about is your money!
Beware!
I agree! They are complete [censored].
Their world is worthless. If they aver try to buy something from you they send students that have no say. Then the boss, Jerry Trimble, goes back on the whole deal and everything you talked about was aware of your time. No money, no sale, no deal, no anything! Good luck whoever tries to make a deal with Jerry Trimble Helicopters.
You wanted valuable time and effort with scammers and time wasters. The students were good as gold bit the management let you all down! Sadly... Sorry guys. Deal with someone with integrity next time.
LOL!

"...I'd like for you to give me a call at the FAA Flight Standards District Office in Portland: my office."
And who exactly are you Mr. / Ms. Principal Operations Inspector?
Please share with us your name, so that I know whom exactly I'll be asking for.
In fact, I might opt to call Oklahoma City instead.
Because from where I'm standing I'm amazed that the FAA, who you are clearly claiming to represent, concerns itself with web trolling.
It also seems to me, that your post is meant to intimidate.
Is that what you / the Portland FSDO is doing?
Oh please, tell us who you are.
Happy mom222 is acting as a web troll. I hope we can all understand that. What a shame to slander, as stated above, from my understanding, a good name.
As for "NTSB DC", due to your personal and opinionated allegation regarding safety while using the National Trans. Board as the identity behind said opinion, I'd like for you to give me a call at the FAA Flight Standards District Office in Portland: my office. Please ask for the Principal Operations Inspector, that will be me.
Assuming you're of the office you claim to be, I await your call.
Not exactly, Happy Mom222, but there are some issues.
Reading between the lines, what Jerry Trimble Helicopters wrote in response to this complaint on 11th. September 2013
the helicopter rides are most likely loss leaders in the hope of snagging some bigger money making business, and taking your kids
Sightseeing just wasn't a worthwhile time or resource investment. This is quite common in the real world of small time "mom and pop" aviation.Having said that, Jerry Trimble Helicopters have been having some serious safety issues (due to poor management by the owners and the gung-ho nature of arrogant, inexperienced instructors trying to impress their peers, bosses, etc.) Which has resulted in accidents during 2013 that fortunately did not have casualties.
You should consider yourself luck Happy Mom222 that your flight was safe. So please let this matter go because, although you have a valid point, it would be wrong for you to be ridiculed as you have been just for expressing your valid opinion.
Note to the wise: "NoThankQ", "BR Parker" "jerrytrimblehelicopters.com", and "Jerry Trimble Helicopters" are very likely one and the same, or at least very closely related. As is anyone who tries to stifle "Happy Mom222"'s right to free speech.
God Bless you!
Not just that but the workers seemed scared of the boss. It is sure as hell a mom and pop outfit where money talks and nothing else matters. Just telling it like it is.
Is there anyone else out there who has had a similar experience?
Well, sure I ended up paying a helluvalot more than 20 bucks for a ride for my kids. They sure made money outta me. It was all about the money when it came down to it.
Happy mom you make me angry. Jerry Trimble Helicopters have given many people an incredible experience at an extremely cheap price. They do not make money on this! They offer it because they are genuinely nice people. Maybe you should do a very little bit of research before slandering some of the nicest people that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Jerry Trimble Helicopters offers $20 helicopter rides each Saturday morning at 10AM, May thru October, weather permitting with a 210 pound weight limit in the Robinson R-22 2-seat helicopter. Obviously, we cannot put all of that information on a small sandwich board sign next to the highway. We apologize for any advertising that is being construed as missleading -that in not our intent. The $20 rides are intended as a way to promote general aviation. A lot of people dream of flying in a helicopter, but think they can't afford it. We've had the privilege of helping many customers check "go for a helicopter ride" off their "bucket list". We love seeing the look on the face of a youngster as they lift off the ground for the first time!
Also, our facility is located in the secured area of the McMinnville Airport. All customers are required to park in the parking lot and walk over to our hangar. If you have a question about our location, all you have to do is go into the main office at the airport and they will point you in our direction. Our hangar has a large sign facing Hwy 18 that says "Jerry Trimble Helicopters" on it.
We have removed the price from the sign along the road in an attempt to alleviate confusion. If you want to know the price for helicopter rides, please give us a call at [protected].
My kid was drawn in by a misleading sign that ended up in a much higher price for the ride set by the owner. We reluctantly paid the money but I feel ripped off. I was ripped off by the owner.
I looked at the sign on the road
Yes! That's so true...
It happened to me and my baby...
That is very true! :(
