I don't usually write negative reviews but I think people should be warned about James Malinchak. I attended a public speaking seminar/boot camp. I got roped into buying a package that included a phone call with him and a day of brainstorming at his mansion. The phone call with him was so upsetting I was left in tears. He was rude and dismissive and rather than answering any of my questions he tried to upsell his coaching programs... so in other words if I wanted to get the answers to my questions, I had to spend thousands of dollars on his coaching program. This phone call was worthless. I knew then that I had been taken to the cleaners. After the phone call, I ended any business relationship with James Malinchak. I guess I was lucky I didn't go to the mansion... I later found out the attendees spend the entire day in the sparse desert home, listening to other attendees (not "the expert" Malinchak) without even a glass of water!
Well I am back home after four GREAT days at James Malinchak's College Speaking Success seminar. It has been a great time of learning, sharing and meeting new friends and colleagues. I have been to 4 of James' events thus far and I have to say that this one seemed different, a little special somehow. Like something extra was added to the "recipe". The morning sessions were really cool. Before we got into the main message James would share some insight into speaking and marketing that were not a part of the manual. It was like sitting with a "veteran" of speaking and marketing who was just sharing "from the heart" years of wisdom and experience. Cool stuff James! I learned a lot and once again had ideas spinning around in my head! For me this event was also really cool because of the new connections I have made -the people I have met. Nothing like being in a room with like-minded people for 4 days. The energy is very high and everyone is positive and encouraging. I left today with a lot of great ideas (and lots and lots of notes) that I am ready to apply to our business, increase our profitability, and be a blessing to the world! And last thing: one of my goals has been to not only learn how to market but also to develop a "marketing mindset". These seminars are helping me do just that! Thanks to you James, and to the whole Malinchak crew! Carpe Diem!
