On June 17, Interstate roofing came around to all the houses telling people that they are just going to look to see if there was any damage done to my roof and that is it. It was my son's birthday and I told them I have someone coming out the next day that i wanted to enjoy my sons birthday, they told me it just takes a few minutes and they would not be in my way at all, then of coarse I needed to sign this paper to let them get on my roof( "it was my permission for them to be on the roof"). I later found out after reading the back that i was then stuck into a contract with them. Not happy about that at all, I asked the Ronnie how does this work? He said he would take care of everything I would not have to do a thing! I told him i am not happy since he told me that i had to sign in order for them to check the roof...( mind you i have someone coming the next day to do so for me). For 3 months I was told be Daniel that the material was ordered only to find out for those 3 months no one had ordered the material at all. Daniel at that time said I will through in all the upgrades to make me happy since it was his fault that the order had still not been placed. I told him I wanted to see what the difference were, so we made an appointment for him to come out and show me. He came out with 1 sample of a pipe and books to show me (like i could see the difference) He told me that this roof he was putting on is one of the best its not the general 10 year they put on its a 15 year. WOW, does not impress me not that big of a difference to me. So he orders material and it finally arrives after 3 and a half weeks more of time, finally gets installed. I paid them a total of 4966.41 once i finally received bill from company. I saw the bill it was way more then the original amount by 500.00, so i checked into it. They actually billed my insurance for the so called upgrades they GAVE ME! How does "WE ARE THROUGHING IN UPGRADES= we are really billing your insurance" How is that making up for their mistake? I waited 3 months longer then anyone else to have them make it up to me with upgrades that really didn't matter to me and in turn my insurance company paid for their mistake. It is my believe that Interstate Roofing company in doing this to more people then just me and just imagine if they do this to 1000 people that 500, 000.00 in their pocket. No wonder they wont let this go. What i am looking for is for them is to write off the balance they claim I owe them and remove any lien they have may put on my home.
That is awful. Many companies like this will rip off their customers and then close down shop and change names or even move to another state and open up shop again. There is a company that was based in Ohio and they reopened in Suwanee Georgia as Everdry Roofing that is owned by Jamie Scuka (wife of James Scuka) and this is what they left behind:
Equity Exteriors/James Scuka
Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Case No. 10 CVH 03 3747
The Attorney General originally filed this home improvement lawsuit on Dec. 18, 2007.
The case was dismissed when multiple attempts to serve the defendants failed. Numerous
consumer complaints alleging failure to deliver or shoddy and incomplete work fueled
this lawsuit. After obtaining new information on the whereabouts of James Scuka, the
owner of the business, the Attorney General re-filed the lawsuit on March 9, 2010. The
complaint alleged violations of the Consumer Sales Practices Act, Home Solicitation
Sales Act and Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Service was obtained and the defendants
failed to file an answer. A Final Order and Entry Granting Default Judgment was entered
on Aug. 23, 2010. It included a permanent injunction, $314, 557.53 in consumer
restitution and a $125, 000 civil penalty.
COMPLAINT SUBMITTED TO THE COLORADO ATTORNEY GENERAL 12 18 13:
One of the many situations in which Interstate Roofing employees were deceitful at best, criminal at worse. . .

YourComplaint: The owner of the company, Mr. Riopelle, repeatedly refused to meet with me, but finally suggested to my husband by text that he sit down with Francesca Reed (office mgr)to figure out his jobs one by one. This has not been our normal experience with other roofing companies my husband has worked for, but since he wants to get paid and was out of town, I went in on his behalf and met with Francesca on Dec 2nd, who led me to believe that at least 4 of my husband's jobs would (finally) be closed out and we should have a commission check the following Friday (see attached doc into which I copied email exchanges.
Yet when I went in on Friday(12/6/13)to pick up that check, I was made to wait and meet with Mr. Wilson, whose only concern was accusing my husband of an AG complaint in SD (seemingly as an excuse not to pay the commission check due?).
A escalated discussion resulted with my having to stand my ground and not leave without a check in hand, which I did get ($1, 500, not what it was supposed to be per my meeting with Ms. Reed) along with Mr. Wilson's verbal terms that he was severing the relationship and my husband and I both would have to come in the following week to sit down with their attorney at their scheduled time to discuss a complete buy-out or pay-off for my husbands jobs/customers. The following Monday I called the AG in SD myself and was told by the investigator that my husband's name was not on that 2 month old complaint, only Interstate's.
After the meeting with Ms. Reed, my husband and I spent our own time
pursuing all invoices needed (that should have been provided internally by Interstate but weren't) so we could cap-out/close out his jobs and calculate our own commissions, yet they charge 10% overhead. And NOW that we did all this ourselves, consulted with two attorneys (one in CO and one in SD)and presented them with an invoice, and all this only after weeks and weeks of asking for resolution, forcing us to live on $10, 000 worth of draws since last July when our calculations show the total commissions on all jobs should be close to $27, 000+ which he should have been receiving weekly as jobs were fully collected on since last September... NOW, they want us to sit around and wait while they finally come up with their own calculations? And it takes them several weeks on 20 jobs? Their delays and excuses are certainly cause for complaint.

RepresentationsMade: The terms of the contract for payment to be rendered for services performed have not been adhered to. Since my husband was working for them out of state (SD) I have been the one to make multiple trips to Interstate's office to inquire as to why my husband's jobs were not being attended to, why he was still on draws against commissions when he had fully paid-for jobs completed and collected since last September and due payment of commissions on. Requests for draws have been denied numerous times. I have personally been disrespected and inconvenienced in making trips across town to pick up commission checks that are not there, without any notification or explanation as to why.
AmountInDispute: 16, 609.32
FairResolution: Immediate payment of commissions due on jobs fully paid less draws already received for the amount of $3, 238.88 on S. Dakota jobs, along with our calculated approximation of $1, 025.84 on Denver jobs fully paid. That only leaves 5 jobs that are not fully paid yet but have been pre-negotiated with respective insurance carriers and settled, most with payment en route. This is another $12, 344.60 due in commissions Interstate may pay off now, if they wish to settle as Mr. Wilson suggested. Otherwise, each of these last few jobs will be paid on promptly and immediately as final collections are submitted. The attached invoice shows accurate and fair commissions as calculated on each job per industry standards except where missing documents as indicated forced reasonable estimates.
