This is the email that Interstate Roofing of Denver, Rapid City, Omaha, Wichita, Kansas City, St. Louis is using to justify withholding over $13, 000 in earnings from my efforts in SD. This customer conspired with her daughter in Iowa (addressed in the email below) to not pay for storm damage repairs, and to keep the funds I recovered from the insurance co. to repair the home for themselves. This borders on insurance fraud, so the parties below had to make up and excuse to justify the theft of services. Interstate's Scott Riopelle and his cohorts Brian Bailey, Melanie Altamirano, and Tim Serantoni took it upon themselves to inflate the issue to steal my book and referrals in the area.

This email to the daughter lays it out pretty plain and nothing is untrue. They made a complaint to the South Dakota AG but it didn't go anywhere, because there was nothing to it.

Scott Riopelle and his cronies have built a second profit center within the roofing business--ripping off and stringing along the sales force (except for the chosen few, who assist in the racketeering). We are putting together a number of vendors and subs that have been systematically abused and embezzeled to put a class action together to bring these ripoffs to justice. Call three oh 3 four nine five 48 twenty eight.

Yes, a Mechanics Lien has been filed on this property; this is the rare person that deserves it. Nearly all my customers in Rapid were honest and appreciated my efforts, and paid their invoice promptly. It's really too bad that these innocent homeowners will be liened as well due to Riopelle not paying for ANY of the projects.

Interstate roofing knocked on my door after a hail storm claiming that they would work with my insurance company (who they apparently loved to work with and had a relationship with) to get us a new roof.
They said things like:

We guarantee we can get your insurance company to buy a new roof

That there absolutely was a ton of damage on my roof. They even pointed it out to me, but me not being a roofer, what do I know. No way my insurance company would not pay for it/it's a slam dunk.

That the town I lived in would not allow the roof to be repaired due to codes and that the insurance company would be forced to pay for a whole new roof.

That my insurance company was easy to work with and they were familiar with making this process happen

That I would not have to do anything other than just make one call

That after a hail store insurance companies have extra money for these types of events are less stingy

None of this turned out to be true. We filed a claim (which apparently is not a good thing) and went forward with trying to get a new roof. Interstate roofing was on the roof with the Adjuster when the insurance company did their inspection and what do you know, there was NO damage to the roof at all. Apparently Interstate roofing was singing a different tune when the actual roof adjuster showed up. Unfortunately now with a claim our insurance rates are going up and no new roof.

If your reading this and are hearing the BS that some Interstates sales guys is feeding you. I know it sounds good and a new roof would be awesome but get a second opinion before you move forward with filing a claim. These guys and this company specifically are not ethical and are saying whatever you need to hear to start the claim process. Basically, they just get as many people as they can to file a claim and if they get an insurance company to buy a roof, awesome for them if not, they leave you with the issue of having filed a claim and the insurance company increasing your rates or dropping you all together (they never mention that when they are doing their little con).

It's a scam, don't do it ...

Thanks for your vote!

Due to a miscommunication and misunderstandings between offices, a dispute arose between the parties. After engaging in significant communications regarding the dispute, the parties were able to resolve the misunderstanding. Interstate Roofing, Scott Riopelle and their employees are fair and reputable, and have a long history of being a proven and reliable company.

I withdraw my complaint against Interstate Roofing and Scott Riopelle.
