I recieved my phone bill with an added surprise...two collect calls to the tune of 61.76 + taxes. The calls were 3min. and 5 mins. respectively. When I recovered enough to speak, I called my local carrier. The customer service gentleman( with a "OMG ! NOT AGAIN quiver in his voice) gave me the number for INTELLICALL'S billing service. Who, did not have a phone number for INTELLICALL. So after two calls to the billing company and a chat with a supervisor I was able to "somewhat" remedy the situation.
How do these corporations get away with charging extremely outragous fees for collect calls?
My local carrier told me that the FCC DOES NOT regulate these companies BUT, they do however hit you with a surcharge. Surely there's a way to put an end to this abuse.
