IKEA - malm bed frame

I am writing to inform you that you have lost a customer today. I have shopped with Ikea either in the Tampa, FL store or on-line for several years. I was near the store on 12/27 and in need of a bed frame for my son. We looked around and decided on the full sized Malm. A rep on the floor answered some question and we proceeded downstairs to get the product. We grabbed a dolly and a different rep assisted with pulling the product off the shelf, and the boxes were clearly marked box 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. I double checked against the sign that we had everything indicated. We proceeded to the check out where we paid and then left. On 12/29 I spent quite a bit of time assembling the frame only to get to the end and realize that I was missing the final part, the support beam. At no time was I ever told by any staff member that I needed it, and there is no indication on any of the external packaging that it even existed. I then called customer service where I was told I need to come back to the store for the part. I explained that I live 45 minutes away and that was not possible, and that the issue was not my doing. I asked to speak to a manager and then was told there would be a 20 minute wait. So I asked for a call back, which I did not get. Today, 12/30, I did speak to a mananger and was again told that I would need to come to the store to get the part that was clearly left out due to mis marked packaging and a poorly informed staff. I explained that if the beam could not be mailed to me that I would not be doing business with Ikea any longer. Your management did not care. I am a single mom and work full time. I don't have time for this kind of inconvenience, especially after spending thousands of dollars over the years with you. I am honestly shocked and disgusted with the lack of care or assistance provided by your customer service managment and when I have the time to do so, I will be disassembling the bed frame and returning it. This could have been resolved by your staff doing the right thing and sending the beam to me a.s. a.p., but they did not even consider it. I'm sorry to say, I don't forsee myself ever shopping with your company again.
