On September 30, 2022, I called the Horizon Services company to come out and inspect and repair my heating system (boiler system). The person came out, inspected the boiler and said it needs circulating water pump. It would cost $2,300 to replace it. later he said it needed a new water pressure valve and added another $400 dollars to the cost. I agreed and he replaced the circulating pump and water pressure valve along with keeping the old parts.
On October 4th (today) early morning I woke-up to the sound of my sump pump continuing to run and would not cut-off. It was raining, so I went to the basement to investigate the problem. I realized the plugger ball would not go all the way down to shut-off the sump pump. I thought it was a problem with the shut-off switch on the pump but later realized there was the cover plate to my old circulating pump positioned directly under the plugger ball so the sump could not shut off. This would have caused damage to sump pump motor. Once I remover this cover plate the sump pump was able to cut-off as usual when the water is drained out.
If the repair man took the old parts he replaced, how did the circulation pump cover plate get into the sump pump and positioned directly under the float ball? On one else came into my basement but a delivery man to bring him replacement parts for the pump and water pressure valve. I called Horizon to report this matter, they said they would call me back. I told them I was going to report this to BBB. so far, I haven't heard from Horizon.

Desired outcome: I really don't know what to expect. The employee should be called in from the field and based on their employment practice dealt with appropriately.
