HiTech Pet DoorsInferior, though very expensive product

HiTech's Model PX-1 Automatic Pet Door worked sporadically for a few hours, then didn't work at all, and there was no way to discuss my problem with a real person at HiTech to get a possible solution. I
telephoned for several days but only got the automated response, then went to the link for "operator" but no one answered. Finally I started a daily e-mail campaign and got ONE reply, but there was no
further correspondence or requested phone calls from anyone. I managed to find an e-mail address for owner Nick Bonge and wrote him twice, also to no avail.

I returned the HiTech door and got a Solo automatic from Moore Pet <http://www.moorepet.com/ >who are far more sensitive to the needs of its customers. They have real people who answer the phones and answer questions and are quick to respond to e-mails. Miss Piper Cat was a little leery after the HiTech one turned on her, but she was in and out of the Solo door in short order.

Moral of the story is that HiTech has an inferior, though very expensive product, and the grief I've been through should not happen to another person. I highly recommend Moore Pet, for the quality of
their product and superlative customer service.

    I am replying about Moore Pet - absolutely the worst firm I have ever done business with. At least with Sam's Club and the Hi Tec Power Pet door, if there is a problem you can get a replacement or refund immediately. I purchased a pet door from Moore Pet and it did not work as advertised. I did not screw it in permanently and it was in brand new condition. They would not take it back because it was "used". It was never used, only hung in place and not permanently attached. I even had all the packaging, as the door was only days old. They told me to contact the original manufaturer as they were only a distributor and they did not honor the manufacturers 90 day satisfaction guarantee. I was stuck with a $220.00 dog door. Buyter beware, I found Moore Pet to be ok at the time of sale but boy did they change when there was a problem. Worst company I have ever dealt with. They were condescending and sarcastic. No way to operate a business.

    HighTec PET has not improved. I bought HC8000 containment system (invisible fence), it never worked and company employees are rude sarcastic and all around unprofessional, that is when you can actually get an answer.
