Hair Cuttery Nasty email received - inattentive staff

Date of incident 3/13/2023 - I made an appointment to get my hair cut and blow dried for 5:15 PM. I arrived at 5:10. It took someone until 5:20 to check me in when I indicated I had an appointment with Jackie, I was told she stepped out for a minute, and she never returned! I said I just need someone to please cut my hair I can forego the blow dry, but I look like a wooly mammoth and I really just need a cut. They all just looked at me like I was crazy. I had already waited over 1 hour. I asked a stylist who was playing on her cell phone - after she placed color on a client's hair waiting for it to develop if she could help me and she said rudely, I already have a client. At that point I said, please take me out of the computer I am leaving it is now 6:30 PM. This morning I get a rude e-mail from Hair Cuttery telling me that I missed my appointment! I did not miss my appointment. My stylist missed my appointment - the store needs to be much more careful before they accuse clientele, of being inconsiderate. I can assure you I normally spend a decent amount of money getting my hair done at Hair Cuttery, between services and just dropping in to purchase products, but not anymore. This kind of service does not warrant anymore of my time or money.

Desired outcome: I would like a very sincere apology. I cannot say a refund because you cannot give me my time back.

Hair Cuttery Some white hair not covered/ unprofessionals/ sloppy/uncomfortable

-Very unprofessional as both hairdressers spoke of all customers wether on phone call or walk-ins as they complained and made fun of them in front of customers.

- The back of my jacket and shirt got stained from hair dye, even though I had a cape, she wasn’t careful.

-When she tried to clean it, I suggested hair spray as it’s the best for it. She tried and said she removed it. I asked if my shirt got stained and she was trying to clean it.She said it came out. It did not. She also told me to wear an old shirt when you go get your hair dyed.

- The washing bowl was horrible and painful. My head was so tilted back,she told me I was little and to have not only my head back so much, my neck was hurting, she also told me not to lean my head on the bowl! I couldn’t do what she asked me too. Imposible.

-Other worker was on cell for good 8mnts, instead of cleaning her working area.

Hair Cuttery Service/outcome.

Im December I went to Hair Cuttery located in Feasterville Pa, I wanted a root touch up and balayage to go over what I already had. I asked too if she could do one or the other. This employee was an older woman maybe in 40’s or 50’s, she also cut my hair for free then told me not to say anything and did not charge me for it. Typically someone would be happy with a free service but it made me think something was off. I took a picture of my hair the next day and it was not what I wanted at all. I also left a Google review describing my incident. I paid over $100 for my hair to be an orange bleach. Not at all what I wanted and ended up covering it all up because I did not want to spend more money to get it fixed. This was my first time at this location and I thought it was completely unprofessional for the employee to not state maybe she is not comfortable or doesn’t have enough experience with balayage. Extremely disappointed and would like a refund.

Desired outcome: Balayage and a root touch up.Did not get balayage and grey roots were still visible.

Hair Cuttery Hair color

I Went on February 6th 2023 for a purple, blue and black balayage. I took a picture and my hair was already like this, it just needed touched up. The stylist was very nice but what I got was not what I asked for or what I showed her. She apologized and gaze me a discount but that is not the outcome I was looking for. I would have gladly paid full price for the colors I went there to get. You can not see the blue or purple barely at all. My hair just looks black.

Desired outcome: I do not want a refund. I would like to go to a different stylist at a different location and get the color that I originally asked for.

Hair Cuttery Stylist cut my neck with hair clipper

Stylist named Mickey at Rio Hill Hair Cuttery in Charlottesville VA cut my neck with electric hair clippers during visit today 2/2/23.

I have a photograph to share. When she used the mirror to show me back of hair I pointed out that it was bleeding where she cut me and she said nothing. I am very disappointed in her services and will not return to her. Please refund

Hair Cuttery Service at Owings Mill, Maryland location

Hello, my name is Gul Nadeem, January 25th I walk in Hair cuttery at 10010 Reisterstown Rd #20, Owings Mills, MD 21117 for hair cut. I told I just need long lyrics and at front of my head left side I have a puff which need to trimmed. Also dry hair not a style. By the way I am Hajabi means cover my head.

Very friendly girl wash my hair then dry, after drying she starts cutting back of my hair. When it’s come to front puff I was keep telling her. Just I little bit. But she literally chopped my hair. Good amount of hair she cut straight. I took pictures too. I asked her when you did call manager. Ms. Michelle came and try to fix but she said sorry she cut already I can’t put the hair back I should wait until grow.

Michelle have me pay $36 for hair dry not for cutting. I asked her why did she dry my hair first then cut. If hair is not cut properly why do I need dry.
I am a heart patient and keep telling myself in mind it’s okay it’s okay. I don’t want to get mad and upset myself. I ask Michelle in 3 weeks if I come back are you able to try fixing. She said yes and gave me appointment for February 16.

This is my bad experience with Hair cuttery. Why do you hire people if they don’t know how to cut a simple hair.

Desired outcome: One I need my $36 back which they took for hair dry. Second do something to make me happy. Some nice place gift card or send me some hair products.

Hair Cuttery Management & website

On Monday, Jan 2nd, 2023, I went to the website & made an appointment for a Signature cut with classic blow dry with brush. I got a confirmation with a $41 quote. In the middle of my cut the manager comes to me and said it wasn't $41, it was $57. She showed me 2 pictures on her phone of 2 heads: one that was unkempt and messy and the other that was smooth. I said to her that every time I come in I always get the smooth blow dry. When I was finished my bill was $69. I was livid as your website is so deceiving in leading me to believe it was one price and pulled a bait and switch! I'm never going to another Hair Cuttery again!

Hair Cuttery Customer service

I arrived at my appointment time and there were 2 people in front of me. Salvadora was at the front register taking care of the first guest. The second guest stood behind and Salvadora asked him to sit but the gentleman remained standing. After Salvadora finished with the first guest, she went back to her chair to attend to a woman and ignored the man. I found that extremely disrespectful and lacking good customer service. I asked another employee for her name and I told her that I was going to file a complaint against her.

Hair Cuttery I got a gloss value package

My appointment was on Wednesday October 12 at 2 with Nasreen. I have had her before even though it had been a year since I had her specifically. She didn’t seem to be in a good mood from the time I came in but everything was fine in the beginning. She didn’t give me a stool or offer me one even though I got one last time I saw her. I couldn’t put my hair in the sink all the way which must have upset her but what could I do? I am very short. When she was washing my hair after the gloss the water was scolding hot so I was resistant. She just kept using overly excessive force on me which was cruel and abusive. She didn’t even ask me if anything was wrong and I was a PAYING CUSTOMER. I honestly don’t even know if it was deliberate or not but her behavior was not ok. After she gave me my trim she forced a blowdry and straighten on me. I did not ask for that or consent to it. She didn’t even ask if I wanted it. I never get a blowdry or straighten and I wouldn’t have wanted anyway since my scalp was already hurting. Although I was being uncooperative and was obviously not having it she wouldn’t stop or ask what was going on. I felt so unvalued and under appreciated. My scalp still hurts so bad and I even tried using ice but it didn’t do anything to help. Right now I’m very traumatized by the experience.

Hair Cuttery Hair Service

I had scheduled an appointment with a stylist on 10/12 /2022 at 3:00 pm with Simone, and I asked her specifically if she knew how to do the style I asked for. She informed me that she knew exactly what I wanted. the next thing is asked for was a wrap instead of blow dry. As she was already washing my hair, she said she could not do a wrap at this time because she had to leave and did not have time, so all I could do was the blow dry. If I had known that before she washed my hair, I would have cancel right there. The she proceeded to curl my hair. I noticed she was not using a curling iron, but a flat iron, and I question that. I wanted hard curls, and they are mostly done with a curling iron, then I ask her if she had styling spritz to make the hair hard. She said I do not use that because it makes your hair brittle. Thats not the point. I sked for hard curls and that what I wanted. The more we get into this, I knew it was not going to come out right... Sho nuf, it did not... she did not know how to curl hair; she burned me several times and it looked like a hot mess, like she was dtill in training school. Before I could get to my car, my hair had fallen. I was in discus, because I have an event to do this weekend and now, I am going to have to get it redone and pay additional money. I am requesting a full refund. She did not do what she said she could do. This is not acceptable... I am still in disbelief of what my hair looked like.

Hair Cuttery Procrastination of appointment time

Online appointment scheduled Friday, October 7, 2022. Arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment time. Precisely at appointment time another person seated in stylist chair. Waited another 15 minutes. Service lasted 20 minutes. Wait time 45 minutes. Style did not last one day.

This is the 3rd instance of deliberate procrastination of appointment time.

2nd submission: email received today does not clearly state what important information is missing. Ask Hair Cuttery for the information.

Desired outcome: I am requesting a refund of service.

Hair Cuttery Service

Incident: I sat on the chair for my regular hair trimming, the lady assisting proceeded to ask me the type of style (I said tapper but not too short) then she said to start with #5; right after my cape was on, the clippers were on her hands and she was lining towards my chair, it was when she dough the clippers on my right side ear (it hurt) while she’s concerned of telling me the cost of the cut & hair washing (as she did not look in the computer and see I’m a regular customer of this salon).

Once I pull my head away from her, and states that it was painful how she pinched my ear with the clippers, it was at this instant the other stylist (goin by the name ‘Frank Cooper) the said to me to be quiet and stop complaining as as per her said there was no visible blood coming out my ear. Further she said ‘take the cape off, and leave, as it was only two of them. As I asked how come I did not have the right to ask why this happened, Cooper pick up the phone and said to be dialing 911 to have me arrested, and not to worry, because even if I leave, they had all my information on file to give to the police.

Ok, 1) I should have the right to question the service I receive, 2) I should not fell my personal information can be disclosed to whom your business chooses, 3) where is our loyalty to repeated business/a customer back to the same business, 4) if you need to communicate pricing, it should be before the person engage with tools on someone head / hair, & 5)why is my day off inconvenienced because you slow in business.

Please, HELP.

Note: “I believe an apology from them should had been expressed, and possibly offer me a gratuity/complementary hair cut; but neither of this two took place.

Hair Cuttery Unprofessional conduct of salon manager

Today September 8, 2022 I was at your Prices Corner salon for a 945 appointment. While in the chair and talking with my stylist I observe the salon manger walking the floor while on the phone discussing other stylist performance and making comments such as “I will address her (name) and she will comply and I will handle it”. He made several comments if this nature loud enough that it was noticed by all. I find it very unprofessional for anyone especially management to discuss personnel issues in front of clients and staff. I hope this is address with this individual.

Hair Cuttery Several services have been awful

I have been using the hair cuttery for over 12 years now. My past few visits have been horrible! I have paid a for highlight services that look like I did it myself. My hair is gold I have some think chunks and some small a huge racing stripe and the time before that the girl cut a huge chunk out of yhe back of my hair and againmy highlights are awful. I have pictures of how God awful these past few times look... I'm overly irritated considering I sit there for hours at a time and hundreds of dollars for services that look this bad! This the past 3 times a different hair cutterys... I am expecting a response back about this. My cost was 280 the 1st. 265 the second 165 the 3rd! My phone is [protected]. Hair Cuttery No Air Conditioning

I was recently at your Hair Cuttery located at 455 NJ 35N Red Bank NJ 07701and the salon had no air conditioning. They had fans set up to try and keep the salon cool which did not work at all. It can get brutally hot here in NJ and to go into a salon to mpay good money to get your hair done and you are sweating is not ok. It seems unfair and harsh working condions for these ladies to work in everyday with no central air. Why is corporate allowing this? This is unfair for the ladies that work there and for us the paying cusomer to be exposed to high temperatures in the salon. I would hope that you would fix this to avoid people having health related issues to the extreme heat in this salon.

Hair Cuttery Service

Why should I make an appointment if when I show up on time, the person scheduled to cut my hair takes another person that works next door with a 2 p.m. appointment is put before me?

Now I'm waiting after my appointment and another lady just came in and was placed into an empty barber sit to be taken next. Yet she also jumped in front of me! This is B.S.! My appt. Was with Karen...

Katen also told me after the Manager REMY reminded Karen that I was next that I had a 12:30 appt. And Karen replied out loud, " he'll just have to wait!... I feel racially profiled by Karen for no reason!

Hair Cuttery Hair coloring / highlights / customer service

I went to hair cuttery last week at the Dale city location here in Virginia and the stylist messed up my highlights they were striped and uneven . I reached out to the manager hudda and she stated I could come today to get it fixed . I got there at 1140 am this morning and didn’t leave there until 530 pm they destroyed my hair , made it a totally different color and then refused to fix it after I told them I had to have it fixed for a big meeting tomorrow they refused to put the lowlights in to make it even and fix the problem instwad ahe refunded me half of my money and told me to never come to her stores again . They had me sitting there taking all of the white people first . Told me this is why they don’t like doing my kind of peoples hair . That is discrimination and offensive . I want a full refund and something for me sitting there 6 hours for nothing just to have to go to another salon to have it fixed . I will be sure to tell people not to go to this salon very rude / and racist and poor quality of work. I will be calling a lawyer if this issue isn’t resolved. Hair Cuttery Disrespect

I had booked a appointment for my daughter to get her hair colored blue and black. When we showed the hair stylist she immediately said oh U don’t do fun colors no not me. Tried to ask another person in the shop to do it and that person says no as well. I thought to work on hair you have to be trained in all fields. Well I found the manager of the the Montclair store and she stood by the the workers of the store. I made the statement wow I guess no one here knows how to do there job. The first worker yelled back at me saying don’t every say I don’t know how to do my job. So I don’t recommend this Hair Cuttery at all such disrespect and no training

Hair Cuttery Toner

I bleached my hair on Saturday, and it was very yellow so I decided I would like to have a professional tone it because I was afraid I would mess up, because I have never used a toner before. I got an appointment on Sunday at 1:30 to go to the salon on New York St. in Aurora. I arrive there 15 minutes early which was pretty good she took me early. She wet my hair then put the toner in the first combo she said she used was violet and blue, that was wrong because it turned my hair green. She washed that out right away and decided she would use a different combination of colors, we were talking about the bleach I use and I told her it was splat bleach that you put in and then you can dye your hair purple pink green whatever and as we were talking she was putting the toner on she left the toner on for quite a long time it seemed like 30-40 minutes. According to their corporate office 30 minutes is the length of time you should leave the toner on your hair. Well leaving it on my hair for 30 minutes instead of getting rid of the yellowish color she dyed all of my hair purple. I just now spoke to the corporate office and she was acting like it was my fault, because of the splat hair dye I used, it did not mix well with the professional products they used and that’s probably the reason my hair turned purple. Well it is my belief that the stylus should’ve known that was going to happen and warned me against it before she did this to my hair. I have an appointment to go back on Sunday to see what they can do but of course only the amount of $67 which I already paid will be covered if it cost anything more that comes out of my pocket which is completely ridiculous. They messed up my hair and they should do whatever it takes to fix my hair! I would not advise going to hair Cuttery to get your hair dyed, I’m never going there again, except for on Sunday to hopefully get my blonde hair back

Desired outcome: A refund of what I paid, and it was there mess up so they need to fix it at their cost whatever the cost may be!

Hair Cuttery Ponytail extension

I went to Wilkens Ave location wanted a ponytail extension paid $ 75.00 plus tip totaling 85.00 once I got home to wrap my hair up for the night the ponytail fell off the stylist. And my stylist was the Manager Ty I also asked for my $10.00 tip back then she claims she can’t refund it back. She originally quoted me $90 over the phone but I had already put a relaxer in my hair so my hair didn’t really need flat ironing I felt like she still did it just to talk to charge me I felt like I was already overcharged.

Desired outcome: Only giving back 25.00 and not once did she try to say sorry or apologize for the inconvenience all she said was I’ve done other ponytails and she never offered to give a different style or something to compensate me for in convening me
