Last year the company I worked for engaged into a project that required outside consulting expertise in Mexico. We were looking to interview former founders of companies in the retail space.
We selected Amintore Confalonieri from Guidepoint based on his brilliant "credentials". Allegedly he had experience in procurement, business services, and retail startups all over Latin America in particular in the Mexico ecosystem. We paid $300 for a consultation with him.
After the conference call my team agreed that he had provided unusual recommendations. At the time we didn't doubt his advice because he was coming from Guidepoint so we course-plotted our retail investments in part based on his guidance. We were totally wrong on our bet.
Everything, absolutely everything Confalonieri told us was going to happen with the market ended up not being true. It wasn't a big loss for the company, so we swept it under the rug.
I was really bothered by this, so I conducted my own additional research on Confalonieri and I learned this:
-He never owned nor operated a retail business in his life.
-He never co-founded the retail company Muchachomalo.
-He never co-founded the retail company Custo Barcelona.
-There is no record of a company named "Armytel" in Venezuela (he claims to be the founder).
-He never worked for MRINetwork in Mexico, as per his claims.
-He never worked for TianHe Oil Group Co. LTD in China. It's a fabrication.
-He has a criminal record for fraud and grand theft in Caracas, Venezuela (link attached from http://www.tsj.gob.ve/buscador )
-He has a degree as electrical engineer from a university in Venezuela, not an MBA in Marketing and Business as he claims.
-He never lived in Mexico, he is from Venezuela.
-His multiple online business profiles are full of inconsistencies and continuously change or get updated with conflicting information.
-His "top-notch executive business experience" is limited to working as a procurement manager for a company in Caracas many years ago. He has no real business experience and no startup background, as advertised.
The concern that I need to voice out is that evidently, expert networks are not doing a good job betting and background checking their consultants.
Thinking about damage control, imagine how many other companies did Confalonieri provide deceptive advice to? or how many more Confalonieris are currently working at Guidepoint and other expert networks?
Paying $200, $300 or even $500 an hour to receive the wrong advice from a fake consultant is hideous.
Another grave side to this is that Guidepoint offers "expert witnesses" for legal cases. I hope their betting standards are higher for such consultants or a lot of criminals are going to walk free.
I'm now cleared of my NDA, so I can partially discuss this matter but imagine how many companies are just keeping these situations hushed because of the potential liability.
For what I read here, it looks like Confalonieri keeps going at it nowadays, this time pretending to be an entrepreneur.

I can't believe that same buffoon is the "preferred consultant" Guidepoint sold us for a hefty fee. I won't be using expert networks anytime soon.

I got a google alert about Amintore Confalonieri. I can summarize my experience with him in one word: Psychopath. What you can see or find online about him doesn’t come close to reality.
Always remember this: he doesn’t have a job so he has 24 hours a day in front of his computer to look for trouble. If he is jealous of you and your success, he will try to destroy you and your reputation.
If you are a victim, don't stand down and DON'T BE FRIGHTENED BY HIS THREATS because Amintore is and will always be a resentful loser sitting in front of a computer screen.
Nevertheless, don’t underestimate his dark actions driven by his unstable mental state. For him it goes beyond stealing your money or damaging your name. He thrives hurting others and seeing other people suffering. He wants to be you, and he wants to destroy your happiness. All the wicked and vicious stuff reflected on his social media is 1% of what he will try to do to you in real life.
Wishing you a path of Light and Love, far away from freaks like Amintore Confalonieri.

Selling fake franchise territories from companies he is not authorized to represent and others that don't even exist
I came here redirected from another board. There is so much information online about this scammer since 2010. I can't understand how he's gotten away with so much
He never traveled to India. He doesn't have any company registered in India or the work permits!
His TikTok channel is a joke. Anyone can tell he is a scammer a mile away!

I know this scammer. He stole a lot of money from one of my clients. If you look at his TikTok, tumblr and Instagram accounts he portrays himself as a wealthy entrepreneur providing business advice to people and also looking for new investment opportunities. But if you read the attached post from his own LinkedIn page you can see he was begging for a job, any kind of job a few weeks ago.
It's discouraging that these SM platforms allow scammers like this man to prey upon others even after he's been reported as a fraud numerous times.
