If I could make one suggestion to a potential buyer of a townhome or condo, it would be to thoroughly check out the property management company. Go ask owners on the property how the management company treats them and their property. Genesis Property Management for Robin's Row Townhomes lie. They misuse our hard-earned money by hiring shoddy contractors. They use threatening certified letters to force us to comply with unfair and unreasonable demands and then charge us for the letter ($20 per letter) In short, they treat us like we pay them to live here.

We have nothing to show for the ridiculous monthly fees: no cable or satelite, no swimming pool or clubhouse, no landscaping. On top of this, they hire the absolute cheapest contractors over and over again to repair our roof and parking lot. Our parking lot is nothing but potholes because it's never been done right and it's been redone several times w/the same result less than a month later.

Our roof, even though it was replaced, was done by shoddy contractors. For the last 12 years, it has leaked when we have downpours and damaged the inside of our homes.

They try to punish homeowners for things done by previous owners. When I bought my home 13 years ago, there was a satelite dish facing the street, on the roof. Robin's Row, operated by Genesis, said nothing and did nothing about it. I presumed common sense that if it was there when I bought it, then it must be okay or grandfathered. It wasn't. 7 years into livig there, they came after me and threatened to fine me for having it up there, even though it was up there from the previous owner (who was president of the Association board!). I fought back that I didn't put it up there and I was not going to be held responsible for it - if it was against bylaws, then it shouldn't have been allowed by the first owner to begin with.

They backed off and then came back a week ago (5 years later) trying to do the same thing! Again, I explained that it was not mine and it had been there from the previous owner and I would not pay any fines or costs to have it removed since it wasn't mine to begin. They never replied. I told them they could remove it if they wanted, but not at my expense. I am not an unreasonable person, but I will not be bullied. They know that it makes no sense legally or morally to hold me responsible for a previous owner's action.

They took all the satelite dishes down, including those of my neighbors (who also had theirs in the same position/placement). My neighbor said the so-called mediator came by and tried to blame it all on me, making a comment like "your neighbor is something else.." She replied, "oh, are you talking about my friend?" and he realized he was barking up the wrong tree. He tried to blame the fact that all the satelite dishes had to come down because of me. I had nothing to do with anyone else's satelite dish being place improperly - and I had nothing to do with the one that was put on my roof.

Needless to say, if I could move out I would - just to be rid of these pond ### suckers. It's not fair that there is no government agency in place who oversees these types of property management companies. I like my house and my neighborhood, but I hate with all the bones in my body, Genesis Property Management and the Robin's Row Townhome association.

I don’t like genesis property management because they don’t care about the homeowners, they just like to over charge for rediculouse assessments fees and raise the HOA fees every year! PS very unhappy homeowner on 5335 72nd Circle N.
