I have never met a more unprofessional, unethical, person in my life. Gary Field represented me with judge Collins overseeing my divorce. I have read many complaints about this man and I agree with them all. In my opinion he has no clue concerning the law. He prepares documents which are incorrect and costly. His attitude is very poor for a person in-trusted to serve as a officer of the court. He is very demeaning to women, which is a direct reflection on who he is. His billing practices are unethical. Bills for services he did not render.
There are many attorneys available able to provide you a meaningful service without the unethical and unprofessional service provided by Gary Field. In my opinion, by this mans actions, he must of been taken advantage of as a young child and/or raised in a abusive home by his parents, , , ,

I am sorry to hear you were victimized by Gary Field. After I fired him, my new attorney suggested we move forward without any "staged conflict" which was a common practice by Field. In my opinion, Mr. Field is a insecure, incompetent attorney who struggles with many internal issues. At the end of our client/ attorney relationship, I was embarrassed for having him represent me in Judge Collins court. I began to notice many other attorneys watching his actions and making sly comments amongst themselves, at one point Judge Collins assistant shook their head after a comment made by Gary Field. I just had enough of his inexperience, over billing and high conflict practice. enough was enough!
Eventually, I found a very professional, "ETHICAL" attorney, who fully explained the process. Afterwards, the process moved along without any costly mistakes as before with Gary Field.

Get out of the situation as soon as possible with this sub human. He will cause so much damage you will be picking up the pieces well after the case is finalized! All the negative comments posted about this sub human are 100% my experience with him, so in my opinion they are true.

I'm surprised he is still practicing law. I found him to be very insincere and damaging in his careless unhinged court room practice.

Everything I write here has been first hand experiences I’ve had with Mr. Field. When I met him, I thought thank you God . I didn’t know it at the time I was face to face with a wolf In Sheep’s clothing . I blindly trusted him . My divorce took 12 years & almost $200,000 dollars later . If I have non believers in what I’m Saying please go to Schack vs Schack on court cases online . My ex husband and I owned 2 7-11 stores, we have 3 children and we had money . Well, I received a wonderful divorce agreement on paper. Mr. Field did nothing to get any of it enforced. So that piece of paper with all those great things I was supposed to get I could wipe my [censored] with . It Means nothing, I got nothing . He would yell and show such disrespect telling me for 12 years that I was like “toilet paper on the bottom of his shoe”. Coming after all the abuse from my ex husband, I thought I deserved it . After our divorce, there were people like the accountant, 7-11 franchise southland corporation that all needed to be held accountable claiming they sold my stores and that the judge awarded me half of each store . Only then to find that the stores were hidden in a friend’s name to claim my ex-husband didn’t own them. My ex owed the IRS lots of money from not paying taxes on his stores , claiming he sold it with zero proof of sale. So a sale of 2 7-11 stores would definitely alert the IRS . It would have satisfied his IRS debts . But it didn’t .IRS did nothing leaving me to believe there was no sale . So, when I sold the house the judge awarded me 2 years later, all of my profits from the house went to the IRS and Mr. Field . I was told I had to pay my ex’s taxes because when the taxes were owed he was in the home and his name was on the house at that time . The the judge ordered him to pay the taxes he owed solely . Even the IRS had given me innocent spousal relief. So how can this happen, legally anyway? They still took the sale of the house money and the house was just in my name then.

Mr Field convincingly told me child support supersedes IRS owed taxes . So at a point I had to sell a house that was teeter tottering on foreclosure. Because my ex husband wouldn’t pay his ordered child support or maintenance. The house was the only thing I was awarded in court that I physically had, besides custody of my kids . So close to the last court date my lawyer, Gary Field, went off to the side with my ex husband and his new lawyer. We got in front of the majestrate for the 20th time to try to enforce child support that was up to $200,000 . When I wouldn’t free my ex husbands child support debt he had with me, Mr Field put in to recuse himself from my 12 year case (this happened after he spoke with them), unless I did what he said . So I did . He claimed he would go after this crooked sale of the stores according to the laws of the IRS if I gave him another $10,000 dollars . Again feeling hopeful & trustful, I did . He said we we can appeal going after the accountant and his friend who hid the stores in his name and his friend’s lawyers who helped evade the law . Mr Field also insisted on being the lawyer on the closing sale of my house . He was attaching the amount of the judgment the judge ordered my ex to pay ($40,000) to him into my sale of my house . I tried to get a new lawyer for the closing , only to find out Gary Field wouldn’t play nice with him . So before I lost everything, I agreed to use Gary Field just for the closing of my house & for me having no outstanding debts . He took another $29,000 dollars at closing . He was awarded lawyers fees in my divorce from my ex . Mr Field received close to $200,000 for my divorce that left me with nothing . Last I left off with him he said we can appeal, he said for another $10,000 he would right this wrong . So I borrowed more money for this divorce from my mom . I promised her with what Mr Field was saying I would pay her in full. I lost everything I owned…everything, life insurance, 401k, jewelry, furniture, trying to keep my three kids fed . My ex husband has passed now , but he left knowing he bought Mr. Field off . If there are any lawyers who would be interested in looking at his corruption, I’m sure others are out there , let’s band together and hold Mr. Field accountable. Class actions lawsuits if need be.

Mr Field, Money is the root to all evil . And you sure are pure evil and deceptive. I also have proof of him opening my ex-husband’s mail to collect a check that was inside . I believe that’s illegal. This was a check for $80,000. Mr Field, you left me with nothing . I wish him no ill . I do wish you, Mr Field, what you deserve .

Any lawyers wanting to look into this, it is the NY Suffolk County court system, case titled Shack vs Schack .

Yes, he is still in business and up to the same old tricks. Cares nothing about his clients and does no work until he's paid and then the work is the bare minimum. From my experiences, I'm surprised there aren't a few malpractice suits filed against him.

Gary Field is an absolute imbecile. He bungled the biggest mortgage fraud case in NY history leading to the case dismissal.
He is confrontational, arrogant, does not have the grasp of the facts and lies to his clients.
Stay away from this monster. He constantly fires his paralegals, argues with his clients and screws up cases.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS MONSTER.

Field is totally unprofessional in my opinion and past experiences. His tactics are always the same from what I can gather. His goal to make money for himself, that's it, plain and simple. He cares nothing about his clients. All he cares about is getting paid and will travel every route possible to drag the action on and increase his legal fees. I even heard him joke about billable hours in the courtroom before the judge entered! I've read some of his motion papers and I believe them to be shoddy, a first year law student could do better. In my opinion, he doesn't care what the outcome of any motion is as he will make money either way. I refuse to believe he actually cares about his clients or his work product would be better. In person, he is a bully and uses scare tactics akin to that of a lowly bill collector. His arrogance will be his undoing if there is any justice left in the world.

After five years of litigation, four attorneys, two rounds of being pro se, and nineteen adjournments; I had lost faith in the justice system and hope of getting child support from my abusive ex-husband. In a moment of desperation, I appealed to my employer and through the Employee Assistance Program.

In just a matter of weeks, Mr. Field was able to dismiss frivolous motions, make headway where I had long lost my ability to navigate the courts. He is well known and respected in Suffolk's Supreme and Family Court and the Child Support Enforcement Bureau. Mr. Field got my case under control.

There are no words to convey my respect, appreciation, and admiration for Mr. Field's compassion, stealth ability to establish the facts and knowledge of the law. Matrimonial law, child support, and custody cases are a nightmare at best. I was being bullied by my ex. Now, Mr. Field has gained control of my case and is moving steadily towards a fair and just resolution. It is with full confidence and without hesitation that I endorse and recommend Gary P. Field, attorney at law.

Absolutely DO NOT UTILIZE HIM! He is terrible. His work is shoddy. My divorce agreement was one of the worst that the subsequent lawyer I had to hire had ever seen. He left important issues out, and left me completely vulnerable to my ex-husband. His unprofessional behavior and ego know no bounds. He is like a preening peacock- making blanket statements that have no basis in reality. All show- no substance. He believes himself to be a very cultured and learned man, but in essence he is just incompetent and mercenary. The worst part- h took advantage of me as a client, and as a woman, while in a very vulnerable state.

Here are some of the recent concerns posted regarding Gary P. Field;
I should have googled his name also before getting involved with him. I read the court decision by the suffolk county supreme court, Gary Field was called the most worst attorney, dumb and a walking fool. From my experience with him I have to agree. The suffolk county judge agreed, the comments cast general reflections upon Gary Field character and/or qualities. Hey, it cost me a retainer, but I quickly escaped from this monster... Just by the picture posted someone would say he's a FOOL...
http://decisions.courts.state.ny.us/fcas/fcas_docs/2011JAN/51003489820101SCIV.pdf.

Gary P. Field has destroyed families without an ounce of remorse; he is all about revenge and greed. Gary P. Field is unethical lawyer he has made derogatory comments and lies in motion/reply/and opposition papers about x-spouses. Gary P. Field billing lacks details and he bills for days he did not appear in court. I have Google his name and found a situation where he sued someone for "DEFORMATION OF CHARACTER" he claims this person posted on a website that he was a FRAUD, FOOL AND A BAD LAWYER, the judge throw the case out saying this was a direct reference to his character which is the perception of another, the judge also said with Gary P. Field's 30 yrs of practicing he should have never brought this lawsuit to the courts.

Did you get the speech when you hired him how he works hard for his clients because he wants word of mouth referrals... i found him on legal match... i did wonder why a guy with 30 years in law was on a web site like that.. i mean you would think he would be established with that many years... i should have gone with my gut...

Seems as though people who have had any experience with this person agree on a common thread concerning this horrible attorney. Dishonesty, lack of experience, incompetent, untrusting, lack of moral character, questionable billing practices and motion papers. JMJ, be sure to leave your opinion on other sites such as: lawyerratingz.com, yelp.com and insiderpages.com, and telephone Americans for Legal Reform @ [protected] to express your concerns.
If Gary P. Field post (blogs) any personal information about his law practice, ensure to counter his propaganda with your experience of him...

I don't know if Legal-Match.com will take any action, but it might be well worth to share your negative experience with them concerning Gary Field. He uses Legal-Match.com to obtain clients. I filed a grievance a short time ago with the committee. I also was billed for times he did not appear in court and incorrect paper work. A complaint was forwarded through my elected representative, and it was passed along to the Grievance Committee with a cover letter from my representative. It's good to see others voicing their opinions about Gary Field, This man is a horrible attorney/person.

i will check lawyerratingz.com i know you have two years to bring a complaint.. my new attorney also questioned his reasoning for one or two things he did.. he did over bill me after i released him... he ignored my phone calls until i sent him the e court calendar showing an adjournment, and demanding a response for the bill for 3 and a half hours of court time.. of course that was adjusted.. i know he got away with more but i have to have solid proof.. i had a great attorney unfortunately he was killed in a car accident this guy was like pay me what you can every month it was about his clients not the money...

The attorney I hired to replace Gary Field confirmed all my opinions about him. I mean, his peers have absolutely no respect for him. Although, it wasn't necessary for my new attorney to redo/correct any of mistakes in Gary Field's paper work, the new attorney was able to work things out with the other attorney. I was told by my new attorney, Gary Field actually believes he is a knowledgeable attorney, NOT. He gave me the same line of "BS" he cares so much about his clients and has 30 years experience. well in my case he only made a bad situation worse, by adding fuel to the fire.
lawyerratingz.com has many bad ratings for Gary Field, with some court cases he had with people. One person complained about how Gary Field screwed up paper work and cost his client $1000, 000.00! Don't take a chance on being a victim of Gary Field, shop around for other attorneys!

Reading your response is like a reflection of my experience with him... i found him on legal match.. he called and told me he was on vacation but he cares so much about his clients he will always take the time out to help them.. i should have realized a guy who claimed to have 30 years experience should not need to still be advertising on an internet sight ... Just my opinion... i truly believe what goes around comes around... I told Gary he should go work for a firm that can start him with easy cases and help him out when he gets in trouble...

I was not happy with him... i think there are much better lawyers out there who care and charge a lot less.. i let him go. i did give my opinion of him and he threatens to sue me... i found out he had no basis for a suit but i did not need the extra stress... i did learn he did sue the above for a comment and lost... shop around...
