This company is contracted with Federal Warranty Service Corp. A&E was a "no show" after 4 1/2 hour wait for a repairman.
from A&E. We waited another 1/2 hr before I received a call back from the company & not from the technician. The appt was rescheduled
according to their schedule & no regard for the customer. We are at the mercy of this "system" but am willing to cancel the Warranty service contract.

Called the Company, with which I had a contract, when GE Speedcook Oven stopped working. Was assigned a date and time for service, and they gave me the name of the servicing company which was a few miles away. They never had the assignment as it turns out. A different Service Company called (70 miles away), and never came out. In the course of a month, I never received a call from them, but weekly calls to them said that they had ordered parts. Called the warranty company and the "local" company weekly looking for status. Then, a call came that said they were coming out, was the unit removed so they could repair it! THEY DON'T REMOVE UNITS, even though it was a one man installation initially. I signed up this service so I didn't have to worry about repairs. CANCELLED CONTRACT WHEN SERVICE WAS DENIED. I could have ordered the parts and prepared to repair it myself. Any major manufacturer that deals or recommends this company will seriously damage its reputation, unless you are dealing in handheld devices.

May 18, 2013 I have three Maytag products with service warranty contracts on all of them through Fed Warranty Ser. Corp. I received a notice in the mail that my warranty on my fridge was fixing to expire. My wife paid $132.00 to extend the contract. She did not notice that the serial number and model were not for a product that we owned so she sent them a check. We realized the error about mid way through the contract and called and told them they sent me a refund for the remaining portion of the contract $61.00. I called and ask them why I had to pay for a warranty on a product I never owned. To make a long story short I was told that I should have checked the contract that they could do this under my contract and that I had received all the refund I was going too. I have since filed complaints with the FTC and the Better Business Bureau. I can't believe that this company can operate freely in this manner. I feel that it's only going to get worse as rules and regs on corporation are relaxed by the great politicians we have in this county now. All I can say is take this to heart and buyer beware. I also emailed Maytag Corp and was told by them I should have read my contract better. No more Federal Warranty service Corp. or Maytag for me.

I canceled my extended warranty in Jan. 2013, by certified mail, complying with all the required documents. I qualified for a full refund because I canceled before the 60 days were up. After waiting for a month to get a refund check, I called FWSC and was told my warranty had been canceled and that I should expect a refund check soon. Well, five months have passed and I'm still waiting. I have made many calls, had long waits, and discussions with "supervisor's." Promises were made and not delivered. What a rip off! It sounds like having a warranty with FWSC isn't worth the paper it's printed on anyway. A lesson lesson learned.
I have written a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I plan to write letters to the Attorney General, regarding Consumers Affairs, to each state that this company operates in as well as my own. This unethical, fraudulent company needs to be shut down.

On 3/8/12 I purchased an extended warranty for a brand new Maytag front-load washer and Maytag Dryer from Federal Warranty Service Corporation (FWSC) - a subsidiary of Assurant Solutions. The contract was emailed to me and I filed the contract in case I would need it.

The washer broke down on 4/15/13 and I placed a repair request with FWSC. When the repair technician came out for the diagnostic call, he noted that Model and Serial numbers on the contract were not the same as they were on the equipment. I called FWSC to let them know that the numbers were wrong and that they needed to get the records corrected so that I could exercise my claim.

FWSC told me that I gave them the wrong numbers when I signed up for the contract. This claim is ludicrous as the model and serial numbers listed were for top-load, Whirlpool, small-capacity items, which I did not own, never did own, and most assuredly did not have model and serial numbers for. It was obvious that they registered the products incorrectly in their database and simply needed to make the changes. They were willing to change the contract on the dryer, if I agreed to pay them an additional $135, but refused to change the contract on the washer nor would they honor my claim.

When I contacted Whirlpool directly about the problem, Whirlpool would only say that Assurant is a separate company and that they had no control over Assurant's decisions. More importantly, when I was talking with the Whirlpool service agent, he told me how Assurant could have made the data entry error as he sells extended service warranties for Assurant using their system.

The repair fee for the 14-month old washer will exceed the cost to replace it - so I am out the washer. FSWC made a data error that it will not admit to, and will not honor the contract (even though they still have my money), and I will have to buy a new washer at my expense - despite having purchased a 60-month extended warranty.

I am having trouble and for 3 months I get the run around. To get cancel is worse. You have to send them a letter saying cancel my contract. and they can or might send you a check back for less amount. I will never get a warranty again from them. You cant find out a number to the company and talk to someone in person on the phone.

Very poor customer service. Unethical company. They have had hundreds of complaints filed against them in the last 3 years with the Better Business Bureau. Just go online to the BBB.org and you'll see. Stay away from this company.

I'm having the same thing going on, I have a unit that is not working because of a leak in a valve. They told me when I got my units they would be covered for 10 years parts and labor on anything that happens. Not true they say they will not cover a leak but one time. That is not what I was told from start. If anybody is getting a contract do not get a Federal Warranty, because it takes forever to get service and they may or may not cover the parts and repairs.

I had the exact same experience. When I contacted the Federal Warranty people I really got the run around--again no accomdation for the customer--all they could offer was the next available appointment. I would expect the serviceman to show up the very next day in the morning first thing. I am cancelling the contract!
