Federal Crime Invesitgation Department review: Complaint against my SS# 52

Keep receiving phone calls from a John Smith stating he was from the Federal Crime Investigation Department. The phone number they left on my v.m. to return their call is [protected]. I have received many calls from these people in the past - always the same foreign voice and he always gives me a different name -- sometimes he's John Smith, sometimes he's Kevin, or Patrick, etc. When I call them back they state they have a "complaint against my SS#" for unpaid payday loans. Yes I have gone online to obtain payday loans, but none are unpaid. Be careful when you apply online for payday loans -- they sell your information to other people, and most of these people are "scammers". Never provide any bank information or private information to these people. I've had to close my bank accounts due to fraudulent debits due to my information being given to people like them! Be very careful above these people. I've reported them to the FBI but that doesn't work either.

I always receive phone call from these people. fraud and scammers. I agree - be very careful not to give your private and financial information to them. Hang up on them.

All these scammers are from another country and if you can start to answer the phone when you see this kind of number or numbers come put, answer with Police department or federal investigator and asked them questions such as what is your investigating license number...and say you are recording this conversation and has a tracer on this line. ( See how fast they will hang up) But Do not call there number you will be charged for that call. and a better one I learned when they start to speak, you just start speaking with another subject with out them even getting a word in edge wise...just talk about anything that doesn't mean anything...its makes it a little better for you to feel like not a Victim...THESE PEOPLE ARE SO RUDE AND STUPID AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE DOING THIS, BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO FEEL LIKE THERE VICTIM.

I received a phone call from someone with a foreign accent. Telling me that I have the federal charges are being filed against me. And I should call this officer number which is [protected].
He works Federal Crime Department. And if I do nothing I will be pick up and taken to jail. He did not even say why. What can I do about this.

I have received 2 messages - left on my answering machine, and I've called back twice. The phone no.is: [protected] - and a guy with a very heavy accent left messages very hard to understand. He goes by name Max Morgan and Mark Anderson - working for 'Crime Investigation'. Had to listen over 10 times to these messages, didn't get too much of them, just very little - I did understand thou that 'an arrest warrant was issued against me and my dad' [my dad passed away long time ago] and another family member for something regarding 'income taxes' [I always file my income tax on time, every year].

I've called back the above phone no. - and there was a 'greeting for an IRS office'. I got him on the phone right away, his English was very broken. He started to give me instructions like to go to a store [he told me few names, to choose: rite aide, dollar store, etc.] - and meet with his lawyer in the parking lot, and file a 'voucher' [probably to send him money]. He said if I don't go to that store, I will be arrested. He said that I need to sign also a statement in which I do acknowledge the mistake I did...! and to give the voucher to his lawyer - he said we need to do this in order that the problem be solved 'outside legal system'...

When I said 'I will call the police' - he right away offered to 'call police for me' - and right away, on my caller ID came up '911 - Unknown' and a voice which was the same voice as the guy with heavy accent, started to talk - saying 'he is from the police dept'. I said: 'wow! How were you able to change so fast the connection on the phones? You are the same guy from the 'crime investigation dept'...
He was also asking a lot of private info during the conversation - which of course I didn't give away.
He said that he can find anyone's including my SS#, DL number...etc. - I said: 'ok, go ahead...'. He got frustrated and hang up...

It is hard to believe that someone can scam so many people, and he can do his work in peace, using as a 'cover up' the phone lines and greetings of IRS offices or other official offices. And he is still continuing to do this...on and on and on...and nobody can do anything about.
It is frustrating!

I had a John Smith from [protected]. He had left a voice mail telling me to contact him or the police were going to show up at my door and arrest me. I called the number back and was disconnected. So I called again. Well I was disconnected four times every time I gave them the name of the officer that had called me. So I gave up.
Five minutes later I get a call from the same number from John Smith. He tells me to call him back at the same number he was calling from. The same number he left on my voice mail. So I asked him why I had to call him back at the number when he just called me from that number. He didn't answer. He just said I had to call him back. So I went on my computer and called the FBI. I asked them the number to file a complaint against someone for fraud. Then I explained to them what happened. They said there are few federal agencies that have 800 numbers and that I should just ignore them.

I just received a call from a officer John Brown. He told me if I didn't want harm brought against me or my employment to give him a call back on [protected]. That's what he left on my voice mail. I'm glad to know it's a scam.

This is a SCAM. It baffles me how people actually fall victim to these scammers. Important life lessons...
if you know you haven't done anything wrong, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE WORRIED ABOUT.
no official government agency will call you asking for money over the phone
never give personal information to anybody over the phone
never hand over money to somebody who is threatening you over the phone
keep your wits and common sense on at all times
nobody can arrest you without a warrant
there are a lot of bad people out there, don't be scared of them

This is why we have caller ID. If you don't recognize the number, don't answer the phone. If they leave a message, don't answer back. If i don't recognize the name or number, I never answer. My voice message does not give my name, only the number they have called. I have never gotten one of these phone calls.

They indicated they had 3 legal cases against me and transfered to their office. Sounded like a scam and told them feels like a scam. They started using profanity. Stay alert.

I have been receiving the same calls for months John Adams and Logan Stone claiming to be from the federal crime department. At first I ignored them, then I got tired of it and changed my number. Now they are calling my new number and saying that I have a payday loan that was not paid. I looked at some the first of last year, but most of them wanted money up front, so I ignored them and never went through. Now they are telling me that "for my safety" I need to call Mark White at [protected] back. I called and he told me that I had unresolved loans. I asked for the account number and he would not tell me. He told me my SS#, address, and the bank we used up until a few months ago. He tells me that he is sending his "officers" to arrest me. This is the second time I talked to him. The last time he said I had four hours and his officers would be at my door. I have three small kids at home at the time and it scared me. I have contacted the local police department and was told they could not help me. This is crazy and needs to stop.

The last few posters need to read this entire discussion as it tells you everything you need to know and why you shouldn't be scared - because it's a SCAM! No one is going to arrest you. I'm getting the same calls, except one of the vm messages stated my address and said "for my safety" I needed to call back and not ignore him. This is nuts. I'm constantly getting called by weird numbers, and I hate to think I'll haIve to change my number because of these ###. I also cringe at the thought that they have been calling my work, I'm on medical leave right now and in the voicemail they stated where I work. They also stated my social (in full), birthdate, address, employer, and where I bank. I agree this has to STOP! I can't believe this has been going on for this long and these people are still at it. Oh yeah, and like everyone else has said, this person has a heavy Indian accent and calls himself "John Anderson" - that's when I knew it couldn't be real! I haven't answered any of the calls, but I'm tired of my phone constantly going off and having to hit reject.

I am getting the same thing. I filled out for an online loan but never followed through because they all seem like some kind of scam. I am receiving emails telling me that there is a problem with my direct deposit and to please send my account information right away. I have been ignoring those emails and deleting them. My computer has been infected with all kind of viruses that I couldn't stop with the regular anti virus protection . I am now receiving phone calls from the Federal Crime Division. It is an Indian accent and he says for me to call back at [protected] ext 204 . He tells me that if I ignore this I will be facing 9 months behind bars and that I need to act quickly and save myself. I called the number back but nobody is answering.

I'm so glad Im not in this alone, I have signed up for an online loan but I never followed through with it. I have dne othing wrong to be recieving calls like this. I just received a called by an Officer Daniel Stuart [protected] and their accountant Peter Jones with a terrible accent. I did take a $300 loan on line about 2 wks ago and know they are saying I owe 1, 836.00 and they wanted me to pay it right there and then. I said if I had that kind of money I would not have taken up that small loan. They are giving me 2days to settle this and they brought down the fee to 1, 000.00 only if paid by tomorrow 6/15/12. Their treats are that I will be going to be arrested if I don't pay, that they have my address and social security. I told them I work for a law firm and my attorney wants to see my so call case 98527CA and they said no not until that money gets paid. I'm scare and don't know what to do. Any ideas?

These practices are in total violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. These collection agencies are the bottom feeders of the debt collection industry. When they call tell them that they are in violation of the FDCP and tell them to deal with you in writing through the USPS, preferably certified mail. If they continue to threaten you tell them you have their phone number and will report them to the Federal Trade Commission.
This however will not entirely solve the problem, at some point in time the debt will have to be addressed. Don't try and solve this over the phone. It must be done in writing. for free consultation on how to deal with this call [protected] speak to Victor

Just an FYI...you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. If you talk to them, collect as much info as you can, although know that most of it is a lie. Then file a complaint on the Federal Trade Commissions website. This is happening to me for a second time. Last time the complaint with the FTC made the calls stop. I just filed again. Last time I called and as soon as I said the name the woman I spoke with knew exactly what I was talking about. The word needs to get out so no one else looses a dime to these people.

I work nights so they called my job when I was not even at work and my co-worker took the message for Me and when I arrived at work at 11p I did return the call at [protected] and the voice mail box was full so I couldn't leave a message. I got home at 9am and the called was from an unknown name from [protected] and of course I answered it and the person has an India accent which I could not understand a word he said and had to tell him to slow down Ha Ha Ha, I understood the words, money laundering, case number A6038, and I had to call Officer Scott, I told him "Whatever he is trying to tell Me I need him to write it in English and send Me a letter stating all this accusation that I KNOW is FALSE with a returned address from where ever they are calling Me and mail it to Me since they already have my address Ha Ha Ha then another person got on the phone and tried to intimidate Me by saying it was a court matter and they aren't able to mail Me anything but the court will. I said, "Fine, have the court mail Me that letter and you have a Merry Christmas" and He hung up on Me HA HA HA. Personally I'm not scared of anyone in person or over the phone Ha Ha Ha I KNOW I haven't done anything wrong so why should I be afraid? I will go to court if I have to and I will be my own lawyer LOL I needed a good laugh today LOL

The way i see it these are your options, Just because your phone is ringing does not mean you have to answer it. Or, You Could Call your Phone Company and get your phone number changed to an unlisted, non published number, that would end the phone calls and your problems with these con artists, scammers or whatever they are. You could have your phone service disconnected temporarily and just use your cell phone, Or, you could mess with them and answer your phone Thank You for calling Dominos this is (you can make up any name here) could you please hold, Then go away for the week end or whatever, its their long distance phone call not yours which means they are paying for the call your not. Or you can dial *67 that will block your number and call the phone numbers that are calling yours and see who answers if its not a business the next time they call i would just answer FBI Fraud Investigation Division this is Inspector Gadget.

These caller's state they are either from: The Federal Crime Dept, Federal Bureau Department, An Attorneys Office, They are an Officer and blah blah blah. So far I am being investigated by the government for an unpaid loan, my mail and e-mail is being monitored, I am going to jail, I will have to pay a fine of 5000.00, the law will be at my house if I don't clear the matter up and arrest me by 11 a.m. I called them back around 4pm and asked where the cops were. I showered, shaved my legs, put makeup and perfume on, but no one showed. I also told them I don't know what country they are calling from but here in America we have what is called DUE PROCESS!

I have been receiving calls like this for the past month. They have used so many names that I can't remember them all. Today it was from a Sherry Washington claiming she was an officer with the Federal Crime Investigation Dept., and the I had an outstanding loan with a company called Payday Loans and I would be in serious trouble if I did not pay up. Yes, I have taken out payday loans in the past, but never with this company, and it has been at least three years, and never defaulted on one. What is scary, is that they have all of my personal info. I am always checking my bank account to see if it has been hacked. So far it has not been tampered with. These people are calling me at work and at home. The number they leave is [protected]. I am afraid to call it back. Does anybody have any suggestions as far as catching these sand n...rs?

Sign up with the National Do Not Call Registry, after 31 days you can file a complaint with them about the phone calls your getting. Also do any of you ever go onto whocalled.us and typed in the phone number? You may be able to find out who is making these calls and be able to find complaints on there as well from others who are getting these calls? In the meantime I would'nt answer any of the calls from numbers that I dont know.

Yep, they tried to get me too. I have never had this happen but when I got this urgent VM curiosity made me call, cuz I know I haven't passed any bad checks. And low-and-behold after getting off the phone with those creeps I searched and found all of these complaints against this "federal crime investagation dept." When I called them I could bearly understand the "officer" cuz of his heavy indian accent, so I demanded to speak to someone I could understand. They "transfered" me to another heavily indian accented "officer", who I promply told to get me another person who can speak english that I can decipher. I then got "transferred" again to "officer" jamaican accent, at this point I'm saying to myself ( are you kidding me!). I told "officer" jamaican" that I was "officer myrick" and I want him to send me the court filed law suit, he then threaten to send police to my home and have me arrested. I told Him to tell Them to make sure They bring the paper work with them. LOL LOL Next victim BEWARE!

18 min agoI rec'd a call on my cell asking for information on my niece. They said they were the "federal crime department" and there was a very serious complaint, a very serious case regarding my niece, whose name she could not pronounce. I asked what it was about and the woman, who could barely speak english, said, "Just have her call this number." Instead, I called the number back and the phone was answered by someone, this time a man with a heavy ?Indian? accent. I said who are you? He said, "the Federal Crime Department, what extension do you want?" I said, "I don't want any extension, I want your address so I can write a letter to the head of your company." He hung up on me.

I had the same thing just happen to me. It was a guy saying his name was Patrick Miller with the federal crime department and he had 3 counts on me against my SS # and bank account because I did not repay a loan from payday advance. I never got a loan from them! He said if I didn't pay today that it would be turned over to the court and I would face serious legal consequences. I called my local sherriff's department and they told me it was a scam because the federal goverment would call with a court date and information not wanting money. He is still trying to call me and every time he leaves a voicemail he sounds like he is mad at me. I guess so because he is not getting anything from me lol! Also the number calling me is [protected]. For anyone else having this problem please dont fall for it, it is a complete SCAM!

Hello... These people have been contacting me for months now. I just tell them that I will look up the information and get back to them. I never call them back. They eventually stop calling and bothering me. It is scary how they are able to obtaqin your information that you know that you did not give to these "loan" places they claim they are working for. I have looked up the company's and called them to verify if they have any information on me and that I have taken out a loan and not paid it back. I will post the phone numbers soon. I have them in my desk at work.

I too received one of these calls from [protected]. They were contacting me as the Human Resource Manager of a facility in reference to an employee. They gave me employees last four of their SS number and told me they were investigating a "serious" crime. Wanted me to contact the employee and have them return the call before there was an arrest made. The caller went by the name of Officer Lisa Murphy and had an Indian accent. Scary that these people not only have SS#, but also contact people's employers with this scam. Can't understand why something can not be done to stop this nonsense!
