I purchased a camera from this company. Their website stated 3 available, so I purchased and paid in full for $281.94 + $29 P&H. I received an email stating payment has been received, and the item will be delivered by courier in 3-5 days. I received another email the following day stating the camera was now out of stock and they will refund my money, although their site still showed 3 available. As they still showed 3 available on their website, I stated I wanted the camera I had paid for, not a refund. They then lifted their online price by $95, and said I could pay the extra and receive the camera. I explained as I had already paid for my camera in full, they could not now ask for an extra $95! They claim the camera needs to be imported, so the cost is extra. There was no mention or 2 different types of stock, one local and one imported. They seem to have made a mess of this sale, and the only way out was a refund. They cannot just "up" their price, after entering into a contract with the buyer. They accepted the sale, took full payment, stated the order was being processed and would be received in 3-5 days, then change their mind? I received a phone call from Yassar Patel (NZ head office), who said to take the refund or complain to the relevant authorities. The Melbourne office obviously passed the problem on to the NZ head office, as it was too hard to solve.
This transaction has been handled by Expert Infotech Ltd in an unprofessional manner, and they have acted wrongly. Although I had to reluctantly accept the refund, I have passed all the information on to the ACCC in Australia and NZ, and lodged complaints with both.
They continue to sell this camera, as available, but now at the higher price!
I will never deal with this company again, and suggest others to stay away!

This company is dishonest and false advertise. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

How can a company advertise an item at an available price, with 3 in stock, accept a sale, take full payment, then demand an extra $95 or cancel the sale? They continued to offer the camera at the same price, still with 3 available, yet emailed me stating they were out of stock, with no ETA. Only when I commented on the price and availability of the camera showing on their website, did they raise their price.

These guys should not be allowed to operate like this, and hopefully Consumer Affairs takes action against them.

Agree totally with frank3, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

THEY ARE DISHONEST< RUDE AND FALSELY ADVERTISE!

Frank3, sorry to hear you are having ongoing problems with this shonky operation. Luckily I got my refund, as hopefully you will too.
Don't let these dishonest mongrels get away with their ongoing dishonesty! Hopefully word gets around, and their poor customer service, dishonestyand rudeness reflects in their sales!

Well...still no refund. They have stopped responding to my emails and i have no way of communicating with them.
I wish you luck sos1995, but i wouldn't hold your breath. If they are not willing to refund my money for a deliberate lie on their part, i doubt they will honour your outstanding order.

for everyone else, sos1995 and I are not isolated cases. Do a search on the internet and you will see some so much disappointment people have had with Expert Infotech Ltd.

I too had the exact same problem with Expert Infotech. I ordered a mobile phone. Upon placing the order they were showing 3 in stock. A day after they received my payment i received an email requesting and additional $100 because the price went up. I asked for an explanation and they did not provide one expect it is within their right to do so as explained in the fine print at time of placing the order.
I asked for a full refund. I am still waiting.
Do Not Buy From Them.

Thanks for the advice i will also lodge complaint with ACCC.
