I was' excited to travel to Italy next month for a long planned trip. However, was advised last week my upcoming return Flight from Florence that planned to leave at 11:40AM, was rescheduled to 6:30AM. Our Group has already paid for a Sprinter Van, which now I lose out money paid & have to pay extra to book a much earlier mode of Transportation for the 2 of us on this flight schedule.
Our flight is not only pushed up 5hours, we have to be at the Florence airport 4AM, arriving in Rome @ 7:30AM. Yet, our original connecting flight isn't until 3:10pm that day. I am both annoyed + perplexed that while I have reached out to Expedia + ITA Airlines numerous times, they have not offered a reasonable remedy for this dilemma. As a customer - I did not create this ordeal.
I did not cancel my morning flight, yet have to arrive 5hours earlier @ 4AM.
I am stuck at the 2nd airport now for 8hrs, which I asked Expedia to at least offer a hotel room close by to accommodate. To no Avail.
I still have a 3rd flight the next morning to arrive back home.
In short - 3 Flights. Airport #1 - asked to be there now at 4am. Airport #2 - asked to wait there for 8hrs now until my connecting flight. Airport #3 - a third & final flight the next morning.
3 airports in 24hrs. 1 cancelled flight. 1 extended miserable delay until the 2nd flight. ITA offers no compensation. And the service rep I spoke to was rude to say the least. No accommodation/ credit or alternative for this change in flight plan. Expedia offers no resolve. Unacceptable. Totally, unacceptable.
Desired outcome: I would simply like a kind resolution from ITA airlines & Expedia. I'm asked to spend extra money. Exhaustive time at airports. Offer a refund for the extra hassle. Offer a room to rest and put luggage for 8hrs. Offer grace. Be Human.
