Euroshield Roofing

I got these rubber tiles from Euroshield Roofing back in 2005, and I even registered for their 50-year warranty. But now, some of them have started to curl and even fracture over the past few years. So, I decided to file a claim in the fall of 2020. However, when the owner came to inspect my roof in the spring of 2021, he said he couldn't help me. He also mentioned that these tiles should have never been put on my low-pitched roof and blamed the distributor for it. I mean, come on! The distributor provided all the dimensions and pitch measurements before I made the purchase. They even said that the manufacturer should have been aware of these details when they placed the order. So, I decided to shoot an email to GEM Inc. after my discussion with the distributor, but guess what? No reply from them whatsoever.

Euroshield roof was installed by a contractor on November 16. In spring of 2016, the roof tiles were lifted and bent. A representative from the installation company and Henry from G.E.M assessed the situation. Henry suggested regluing and renailing the roof to fix the issue. If unsuccessful, he promised to remove and replace the entire roof. The fix failed, and despite multiple visits, the issue persisted. In 2019, Henry became unresponsive. More tiles are curling now. Speaking to the company's representative, he expressed inability to help further. Despite numerous calls, there's been no satisfactory resolution. It's time for G.E.M Inc to honor their agreement and replace the roof, as the problems seem ongoing.

My Euroshield roof was installed in October . In March , there was a big ol' ice formation on the *** side of the house on the upper roof. It was like 8 inches thick, 35 feet long, and 10 feet wide, ya know? Our bonus room roof, which has 2 sky lights, is like 3 feet below the upper roof. Well, that ice thingy broke and came crashing down on the lower roof at 11:30 PM on March 23. I was just chillin' under one of the skylights when it happened. The ice busted through both skylights, man. And get this, a big ol' block of clear ice, like 20 inches by 8 inches by 4 inches, smacked me right on the noggin. I ended up with a 7-inch gash that needed 20 stitches to close up. Blood, snow, and ice were all over our bonus room hardwood floor. It was a real mess, ya know? Thankfully, the insurance company replaced the skylights.

So, during the week of March 7 - 13, 2021, we heard these loud rumblings like 5 different times. It was the sound of snow avalanching off the *** upper roof, and then it would make this big thud on the bonus room roof. It was pretty scary, man. After what happened to me in March , I decided to be cautious and put plywood box covers over the skylights.

Now, today is June 6, and it's like 28 degrees *** outside. I opened all the windows in the house to try and keep it cool, ya know? But here's the thing, my house smells like rubber tires from those *** shingles. It's been three and a half years since they were installed, and I'm feeling sick from whatever chemical is wafting through my house. It's not cool, man. So, I've made up my mind. I'm gonna replace my $30,000 Euroshield roof with something else, anything but Euroshield. I'm thinking maybe some 15 - 25 year asphalt shingles, ya know? Something that's been tried and true.
