I ordered a treadmill over a month ago...It didn't arrive so I cancelled the order. I still have not received a refund. They don't answer the phone or emails. Many other customers report the same problem. Please do not use this company... It will end in tears.
I am probably going to have to take them to court to get the money back.

I issued an online court claim to the fitnesstimes address in Lister Av in July and he is defending the claim! So he was definitely receiving post there then. I'm just waiting to see what his defence is because I can't see how he has a leg to stand on.

Thanks for the address. I have been looking for this guy for a while. I spent £499.99 on a Reebok Fusion Treadmill and had problems. How do you know this address is correct as according to all my checks it is not his property. This is either a dud address or it was rented?!

I have done searches on him and found other ones but not this.

I don't want to waste my time and money if this is a fake address, I've wasted enough as it is.

Hiya,

i've had a nightmare, i've sent recorded delivery letters of complaints as instructed by consumer direct, and have also raised a small claim through online but the documents havent found them seeing as Warren Hatton has done a runner.

There is light in the tunnel though guys, i've paid to get a background check on the director Mr Hatton only to find out that he has had lots of companies that have ripped people off. i now have his home address to direct my court claim, this is Hidden Meadow Low Stree, Gringley-On-The-Hill, Doncaster, S.Yorks, DN10 4RZ Happy money back hunting fellow victims!

The Treadmill company has gone into liquidation, or so the Doncaster police told me... Making claims is like a lost case. Amazing that this can not be seen as fraud... Warren Hatton should be behind bars.

I have had the same experience. I also made the foolish mistake of by paying through bacs, which on reflection this has never been a standard purchase method. My order was placed over 34 days ago with no reply to emails and no answer to phone calls. I will now get onto trading standards as advised through many of your comments. I will post my progress. Can't believe they are aloud to trade! Its shocking!

Wow there is a lot of comments since i was last here, for me trading standards were great. At first they put me onto to my local council and then to doncaster trading standards people. They advised me on sending the recorded letter, to which there was no reply and then the trading standards people must have got in contact with "Emma" and a cheque was sent to me for a full refund. So my advise is keep working with trading standards, and try and get this crook onto watchdog! and for the people contacting the police, well done because this is a serious problem, he needs to be exposed.

Hi Sammy
Unfortunately trading standards havent done anything for me- just said to write a letter which has now been returned!
I have put a statement in to the police which they are sending onto doncaster police but i cant see anything coming from this!
I think we all need to accept we will not be receiving our money back.

I placed an order with this company in May, I have had no correspondence from them since their first email, containing their bank details. Surprise, surprise the website is now shut down and I think they are now trading as 'fitness & leisure', the website is very similar and the postcode. I stupidly paid via bank transfer, as I thought I would get my goods quicker, duh!
I have been trying to call them for 3 weeks and have sent numerous emails without response. Tomorrow I will call Trading standards and the Police. I am not in the habit of giving my money away.
Thanks everyone for your words of advise.

I will keep on emailing anyway and will let you know what the police report back to me.

By the look of things no refunds will be issued! i wont hold my breath.

This was the last email I received on the 10 May 11;

We had a visit from the police, they left. There is no fraudulant activity here whatsoever! Nice try though

This is the current situation: Take it as you will... This has been sent to around 20 people

Dear Customer

At the request of the owner, we are writing to you in regards to your overdue refund for the order you placed with us previously

As our merchant account was closed, and due to the back log we experienced completely out of our control, but due to our suppliers, we have decided, despite all odds to carry on trading through those difficulties

This means anyone waiting for a refund, will be refunded in full at the next available opportunity

As a Sole Trader, Mr Hatton is liable for all refunds personally. Having hit hard times which were out of his control, Mr Hatton had previously sold his house, his car, all he owns to keep the business going, and to personally see that all customers waiting for refunds are not left out of pocket. He currently lives in rented accomodation, and is borrowing his brothers X Registered car. Therefore he has no assets remaining left to sell

We have refunded in the region of £50, 000 since the back log began, and now have 20-30 issues left to resolve, yours included

By ceasing trading, these last remaining customers would not be refunded, please bare this in mind when calling, emailing, leaving reviews. The company will continue to trade untill every last refund has been made. Please be aware, by trading we are still providing goods to paying customers, and are merely using the profits made per item to issue refunds to anyone waiting, sending these in date order.

We are a fully functioning business who merely hit hard times, through no fault of our own. Mr Hatton does not take a salary, nor does he have a lavish lifestyle, far from it. We have a warehouse, staff and offices, and there has been no fraudulant activity taking place whatsoever, never has been, never will be. You are more than welcome to visit us at any time. Trading Standards are aware of our difficulties, and aware we are trading through these with the intention to refund in full any last remaining customers. If you seek advice from Consumer Direct, Trading Standards, Watchdog etc etc, they will advise you to send us a letter with 7 days notice to issue your refund. If this is not processed, they will advise legal proceedings.

In view of this, your options are:

Wait, and you will be refunded in full at the next available opportunity
Issue court proceedings, which will incurr costs, however, Mr Hatton has no remaining personal assets (the company is not able to give goods to bailiffs which are currently sold)
If you decide to wait, you will be refunded, however, please keep in touch with us via email for updates, we are happy to assist. By the company closing, you will not be refunded. We will battle on and on to ensure this does not happen, with your co-operation

Whatever you decide to do, foul/abusive langauge WILL NOT be tolerated. Slanderous reviews containing false information WILL NOT be tolerated, nor will threatening emails, phone calls to our staff. With your co-operation, we can get through the hard times, and you will be refunded.

Many many companies today take the easy way out, saving huge amounts of money. Mr Hatton is a good, honest, hardworking man, and will ensure you are not left out of pocket, again, with your co-operation.

If you let us know your decision by replying to this email, we will process refunds in date order, therefore we look forward to hearing from you

Yours Sincerely

Euro Broker

Sounds like i should have read these first!
Same problem, 5 months later still no product or refund.. they are confidence tricksters in their initial communication... i guess this education comes at a cost!
I have sent yet another letter by recorded delivery as per instruction of consumer direct.. i'm so surprised at what they allowed to get away with, i really dont know how they sleep at night other then on a mattress of money stolen from us good folk!
I shall continue to persue, once the bee is in my bonnet then theres no stopping me.. i think i may try the police as mentioned by Marjon.
If it wasnt so expensive to go to small claims court then i'd haul them over the coals... hey, anyone wanna go dutch on a prosecution?!?!

Hi I am also in the same position ordered the treadmill 32 days ago and no response! i have emailed and phoned daily and not evem 1 reply. I have contacted the police and trading standards and now want to try watchdog to try and get an investigation into the company now as this is discusting how he is continuing to get away with this. Please can you all complete a form on watchdog website as the more cases they receive the more likely an investigation will get carried out and this man will finally get what he deserves. http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/

I'm another one he's managed to con! I bought a treadmill back in January, which suprise suprise, I haven't received! After giving him and his excuses benefit of the doubt I'm now pretty fed up of waiting so have asked for a refund - though judging by everyones comments it's not looking too likely. I understand from another one of his unhappy customers that taking legal action did the trick. I shall be writing to trading standards and Watchdog, I would urge everyone else to do the same!

Contact Trading Standards. As I said before, they are very interested in this 'company'. The Police are another option, Anthony James, above, tried this and said they were interested. Try anyone and everyone to nail this unscrupulous dealer. Good Luck and keep phoning!

Same problem with a York Aspire treadmill ordered on the 3rd Jan 2011. It's today the 8th April (more than 3 months after) and nothing yet. Fell into the trap of paying for it by bank transfer to save an extra 10% - worng move!

Although email contact was acceptable in Jan and Feb, there was always an excuse after another and promissing that the order was about to be processed. Blaiming the snow weather we had then and the backlog, blah blah blah... I was never able to make contact via the webside 0800 number - left messages but no one ever returns. Email communication has ceased since Feb although several attempts to get an update on my order have been made in writing.

Tried the mobile number above but it's no longer recognised. Tried the home number but it rings and no answer. I will continue to call the home number to see if I can get someone to pick up.

Other thank keeping on trying the home number and webside number and email I don't know what else I can do to get my £300 back... Any help is much appreciated!

This might be helpful to some of you...
Warren's mobile number that I managed to speak to him on is [protected]
I was given another landline number today from Emma his ex wife and mother of his 2 small sons. It is [protected] you might have more luck. Don't get aggresive or threatning it won't work. My cheque bounced last week, but Emma is doing a BACS transfer now...apparantly!
Am going straight to watchdog as I am sure it is the sort of thing they like to get there teeth into. i urge everyone to send all info to Watchdog. Do it on mass and it might have some effect.
There is another community of unhappy people on Facebook page "Eurobroker is a rouge trader" if you want more advice.

I sent a letter to the company recorded delivery as advised by Consumer Direct on the 9 Mar but it has yet to be signed for. They have advised a send a follow up letter, despite them not receiving the first letter but they said it will help if it goes to court at a letter date. I also contacted both Companies House and the Insolvency Service who have confirmed they have never been registered traders. I will not be beaten on this.

Same thing has happened to me! Made a bank transfer for a treadmill in January 2011 and now were in March and they still haven’t got back to me or replied to any of my e-mails since I asked for a refund. I have spoken to a woman twice and a man also and they had always re-assured me that my item would arrive etc, but after a month when they were in breech of the distance selling regulations 2000 contract I e-mailed them and asked for a refund, also did the same in writing and no one has got back to me. I have made a police complaint and also spoken to consumer direct but I want to take more action as they cannot continue to take peoples hard earned money like this, who is with me? I hope we do try and get something done to stop them atleast!

Same exact problem here too. I ordered a cross trainer on the 3rd of Jan 2011, then cancelled on 8th Feb having not received goods, or even an update on my order. Now, another month later, I'm still waiting for my refund. I also paid by bank transfer, so my bank can't assist. I have legal cover through my home insurance which supposedly deals with consumer issues like this, so I'll be contacting them tomorrow. I will also be on to trading standards as something needs to be done to stop them from continuing. Also, has anyone been on to Watchdog? There's a lot of other cases just like this, there's even a Facebook group! Plenty of people to get a case together against them.

Thank you. The Trading Standards have since been informed and they requested I write a letter to the company and send it Recorded Delivery. The letter basically stated I would like a refund on non-received goods within 30 days and a response to my letter within 14 days. The letter has been sent today followed by a call to my local police station. The police were also very interested but said I need to honor the 14 days contact before they will take a report on the company, they have stated this will be treated as fraud if I hear nothing from the company.

My bank have also stated they cannot help due to the order being a bank transfer (I know this was stupid of me)! Does anyone know if or how i can maybe get my money back? Regards

I am having the same issues with this company which incidentally has now changed its name to Treadmills Ltd when you link from the fitness times website. I have contacted consumer direct and have also notified trading standards - I am not prepared to let some ### just take peoples hard earned cash and get away with it. Keep pursuing this company in whatever way necessary - as Marjon has advised above . Everyone must report this to their trading standards - go online to consumer direct and get your complaint in there.

I have now received my refund throught my credit card company for the treadmill that I purchased in September. They were very helpful. I also contacted Trading Standards where the company is based and was then contacted by my local Trading Standards for details of all the correspondence to and from the company. I have been told they are very interested in looking into the company so get onto your local Trading Standards with all your details and hopefully something will be done.
Mr Hatton did e-mail me informing me of a 30 day refund policy, (3 months after I had paid, but 30 days from my cancellation of the order), and my refund was in my bank account a few days later - so dont give up keep going and you may also get your money back. Contact your credit card company who should be able to help. Good Luck!
