I paid what was presented to me on March 11, 2025 which was $445.24 and it never let me know why it was still processing for over a week. Finally I got a hold of the DMV and there was a hold on my registration due to a $14.00 fine because I had a small lapse in insurance so I paid the $14.00 to DMV after showing proof of insurance, and because I had already paid ETAGS and there now was a late charge I had to have paid which would have just been a $72.00 extra charge I had to use ETAGs because they wouldn't refund my original payment. Long story short I should have only owed etags the added charges but they went ahead and charged me $751.24 from my account that would include the $14.00 fee I paid the DMV to release it. I didn't really care about that, but they will not give me back the original $445.24 so I paid in total $1,196.48 for my registration without any person giving me a reason that made a bit of sense to how I was going to be given back the funds stollen from me. I will never recommend this service DMV has a website that's just as easy and less costly plus they aren't thieves well in the sense of taking more than you ever agreed to they up front tell you how much they are ripping you off for the horrible collapsing state of California to drive in. I ended up going negative in my bank account and bounced my rent check so that BS this etags did cost me greatly. DO NOT USE THEM.
Claimed loss: $586.00 approx. if my landlord doesn't raise my rent now. I have never been late or bounced a check and he has kept my rent the same for a few years when he could have raised it.
Desired outcome: Immediate reimbursement for the above mentioned amount but would swallow with some relief the $445.24 originally taken.
