This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I had ceramic kitchen tile floors installed a little over a year ago in June (9th, 2021). I received excellent customer service. The installers were polite, professional and knowledgeable. However, the tile is very fragile and the supporting material, grout is very cheap and crumbles when I clean it and it stays dirty.

When my ceramic tile floors installed, they were so beautiful. It was not professionally sealed and I was told by the installer that Empire doesn't seal floors. I went to Home Depot and purchased several different brands of grout sealants/cleaners none of them work. The grout stayed dirty, but the crazy thing is that the grout brush started to break the grout away from some of tiles, leaving sections of tile with holes instead of grout. Now, I have no choice but to stop using the brush. I now just mop my floors and cover the grout with a grout pen, but it does not stop the grout from crumbling.

End of June, I accidentally knocked a plate and spoon off of my table. I noticed a hairline crack. I never seen anything like this before on a tile floor that should last at least 10-15 years. I started to look around the kitchen floor for other hairline cracks. I found several! I even found them in areas with no-to-low traffic. I'm no longer under warranty and will have to use other methods to stop the cracks from spreading. Now, I will have to fill in the cracks with wood glue and fingernail polish. I just hope it holds up.

Overall, these are beautiful floors, but they are made with cheap materials. I decided to use Empire because I wanted to save $3000 on average compared to other contractors. The biggest mistake I made. Now, in a few years, I will have to replace my floors, because of the crumbling and cracking. In total, I will be out of $16,000 or more for new floors not including the cost of inflation.

Desired outcome: As a solution, I would like a full refund, so I can use it toward new floors.
